Firehouse (Kiss Song)
"Firehouse" is a song by American rock band Kiss, released in 1974 on their eponymous debut album. During live performances, bassist Gene Simmons has breathed fire, with red lights flashing and sirens sounding. The track has remained a concert staple and is regarded as one of the band's classic songs. With its fan-favorite status, the song is one of the most played songs in the Kiss catalog, having been played over 1,000 times during their career. Background Paul Stanley wrote the song while he attended the High School of Music & Art in New York City. He said he was inspired by British rock group the Move's song "Fire Brigade". The two tracks are similar in their choruses ("Get the fire brigade" and "Get the firehouse") and background sound effects. Kiss (commonly styled as KISS) was an American rock music, rock band formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar, vocals) and Peter Criss (drums, vocals). Known for their face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s with shock rock–style live performances which featured fire-breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits and pyrotechnics. The band went through several lineup changes, with Stanley and Simmons remaining the only consistent members. The Move
The Move were a British Rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in 1965. They scored nine Top 40, top 20 UK singles in five years, but were among the most popular British bands not to find any real success in the United States. For most of their career The Move were led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Wood. He wrote all the group's UK singles and, from 1968, also sang lead vocals on many songs. Initially, the band had four main vocalists (Wood, Carl Wayne, Trevor Burton, and Ace Kefford, Chris "Ace" Kefford) who divided the lead-vocal duties among themselves. ''Alive!'' is the fourth album overall, and the first live album, by American hard rock band Kiss (band), Kiss, released on September 10, 1975. It is considered to be their breakthrough, and a landmark for live albums. The double-album contains live versions of selected tracks from their first three studio albums, ''Kiss (Kiss album), Kiss'', ''Hotter than Hell (album), Hotter Than Hell'' and ''Dressed to Kill (album), Dressed to Kill''. Eric Singer (born Eric Doyle Mensinger; May 12, 1958) is an American drummer. Associated with the hard rock band Kiss on and off from 1991 until the band's retirement in 2023, he has also performed with artists such as Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford, Badlands, Brian May and Gary Moore as well as his own band ESP. In his career, Singer has appeared on over 75 albums and 11 EPs. Early life Singer was born May 12, 1958, Eric Doyle Mensinger in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Euclid, Ohio. He graduated from Euclid High School in 1976. His father, Johnny Mensinger, was of Jewish German descent and was a local big band leader who played around the area as well as on cruise ships from the United States to Europe and back. Kiss Alive/35 World Tour
The Alive 35 World Tour was a 2008–2009 concert tour by Kiss to celebrate their 35th anniversary. It was the band's first major tour since the Rock the Nation World Tour in 2004. On the tour, Kiss played in Europe for the first time since the Psycho Circus World Tour in 1999. Kiss wore ''Destroyer''-themed costumes for the tour, but the majority of the songs played were on '' Alive!''. The tour was highly successful and proved to be Kiss's biggest tour of Europe. George Peter John Criscuola (born December 20, 1945), better known by his stage name Peter Criss, is an American musician, best known as a co-founder, original drummer, and an occasional vocalist of the hard rock band Kiss. Criss established the Catman character for his Kiss persona. In 2014, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Kiss. Early years Criss was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Loretta and Joseph Criscuola, who raised their five children (of whom Peter was the eldest) as Roman Catholics.
