Firecrafter Rounder Reverse
Firecrafter is a service organization within the Boy Scouts of America. Formed in 1920, the Firecrafter Organization mainly operates within the Crossroads of America Council, Indiana, but has been known to exist in other areas including Illinois and Texas. History Before the United States entered World War I, Francis O. Belzer was named the first Scout Executive of the Indianapolis Council in 1915 (known as the Indianapolis and Central Indiana Council from 1934 to 1942). With Scouting's early emphasis on athletics instead of Scoutcraft skills, many different ancillary programs were piloted throughout the United States to reinforce Scouting skills and its core values. One such program in place was the three-tiered rank system at Daniel Carter Beard's Culver Woodcraft Camp. Seeing a need for a new program in Indiana, in conjunction with Stanley L. Norton, assistant executive, and Rex Pruitt, Scoutmaster of Troop 46, Belzer created the Camper and Woodsman ranks in 1919 at Cam ...

Crossroads Of America Council
The program of Scouting America is administered through local councils, with each council covering a geographic area that may vary from a single city to an entire state. Each council receives an annual charter from the National Council and is usually incorporated as a charitable organization. Most councils are administratively divided into districts that directly serve Scout units. Councils previously fell into one of four regions: Western Region (Boy Scouts of America), Western, Central Region (Boy Scouts of America), Central, Southern Region (Boy Scouts of America), Southern, and Northeast Region (Boy Scouts of America), Northeast. Each region was then subdivided into areas. The total number of councils depends on how they are counted: * There are individual local councils. * Direct Service covers units outside of local councils. Although technically not a council, it is assigned a council number. * Greater New York Councils has five boroughs, each with an assigned council n ...

Tribe Of Tahquitz
The Tahquitz Community is one of a few local Boy Scout honor societies in the United States that have not been absorbed by the Order of the Arrow. The organization was created in 1925 and consisted of 15 honor Scouts who were chosen to start and maintain a perpetual volunteer summer camp staff at Camp Tahquitz. The history of the Tribe/Community is intertwined with that of the two camps that they have inhabited making one inseparable from the other. To keep active during the winter months, the organization has developed an extensive Indian Lore, backpacking and service program. These programs benefit the Long Beach Area Council and surrounding community and give the members unique youth leadership experience. This Indian Lore program was retired during the 2020 season. The "Tribe of Tahquitz" was also renamed to the "Tahquitz Community" in an attempt to change direction by community leadership. In place of the Indian Lore program has been installed a mountaineer program focusing ...

Tribe Of Mic-O-Say
The Tribe of Mic-O-Say is an honor society used by two local councils of Scouting America, the Pony Express Council at Camp Geiger Reservation, and the Heart of America Council at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. Similar programs exist or have existed in multiple other councils as well. The Tribe of Mic-O-Say is not a program of the National Council of the BSA. Both councils use both the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and the Order of the Arrow. The Kansas City Chiefs NFL team was named by Bartle, while he was mayor there, from his nickname as founder of Mic-O-Say. BSA, Mic-O-Say, and the Chiefs have been widely criticized for cultural appropriation of native tribes. History Micosay was founded in 1925 at Camp Brinton near Agency, Missouri under the guidance of Harold Roe Bartle, who was the Scout executive of the St. Joseph Council, now Pony Express Council. Bartle combined his experiences in Wyoming with the St. Joseph Council's existing honor organization called Manhawka. Bar ...

Chuck Taylor All-Stars
Chuck Taylor All-Stars or Converse All Stars (also referred to as "Converse", "Chuck Taylors", "Chucks", "Cons", "All Stars", and "Chucky Ts") are sneakers manufactured by American fashion brand Converse (a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. since 2003). Initially developed as a basketball shoe in the early 20th century, its design has remained largely unchanged since its introduction. The shoe consists of a stitched upper portion, and a toe cap and outsole usually made of rubber. Although Chuck Taylors are made of various materials such as leather or suede, the original and most widely known version is made from cotton canvas. The innovative detail of the original shoe was the "loose lining" of soft canvas that was intended to provide flexibility and prevent blisters. Converse started making an early basketball shoe in 1917 and redesigned it in 1922, when Chuck Taylor asked the company to create a better shoe with more support and flexibility. After Converse added Taylor's signature to ...
