Fire Island (band)
Fire Island are an English house music duo, made up of producers and remixers Pete Heller and Terry Farley. Both are prolific musicians who have an extensive list of remixes to their credit, using the Fire Island moniker and also being billed as Heller & Farley Project, Roach Motel or Farley & Heller. As Fire Island, they hit number one on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1998 with " Shout to the Top", a song originally recorded by the Style Council in 1984 and with lead vocals supplied by Loleatta Holloway. It also peaked at number 23 on the UK Singles Chart. The duo also had a hit single on both charts in 1992 with "In Your Bones / Fire Island" (the latter featuring Ricardo da Force). They collaborated with Michael Jackson for the song "Money", which appeared on the album '' Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix'', as well as providing a remix for the title song. Brighton
Brighton ( ) is a seaside resort in the city status in the United Kingdom, city of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, England, south of London. Archaeological evidence of settlement in the area dates back to the Bronze Age Britain, Bronze Age, Roman conquest of Britain, Roman and Anglo-Saxons, Anglo-Saxon periods. The ancient settlement of "Brighthelmstone" was documented in the ''Domesday Book'' (1086). "Blood on the Dance Floor" is a song by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, released as the first single from the remix album '' Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix'' (1997). Jackson and Teddy Riley created the track in time for the 1991 release of '' Dangerous''. However, it did not appear on that record and was worked on further for its commercial release in 1997. One interpretation of the song describes a predatory woman named Susie who seduces Jackson before plotting to stab him with a knife. The song's bassline is interpolated from the song " Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life" by the group Indeep. The composition explores a variety of genres ranging from funk to new jack swing. The electropop band Blood On The Dance Floor conceived their name from the song. It was released on May 20, 1997, by Epic Records, and is the second album also released by MJJ Productions, Jackson's own record label. The Style Council
The Style Council were an English pop band formed in Woking in 1982 by Paul Weller, the former lead vocalist, principal songwriter and guitarist with the rock band the Jam, and keyboardist Mick Talbot, previously a member of Dexys Midnight Runners, the Bureau and the Merton Parkas. Weller started the project to escape the restrictions of the Jam, and to explore a more arty, European, jazzier direction, which encompassed pop, hip hop, and soul. The permanent line-up grew to include drummer Steve White and Weller's then-girlfriend, vocalist Dee C. Lee. Other artists such as Tracie Young, Tracey Thorn ( Everything but the Girl) and drummer/percussionist Steve Sidelnyk (who has played for Madonna, Seal and Richard Ashcroft) also performed and collaborated with the group. "Shout to the Top!" is a song by the English band the Style Council which was their seventh single to be released. It was composed by lead singer Paul Weller, and was released in 1984. It appears on the ''Vision Quest'' soundtrack in the United States. The song also appears on the deluxe edition of ''Our Favourite Shop'' (1985), and features in the film ''Billy Elliot'' (2000) and on its soundtrack.
