Kurdish (, , ) is a Northwestern Iranian languages, Northwestern Iranian language or dialect continuum, group of languages spoken by Kurds in the region of Kurdistan, namely in southeast Turkish Kurdistan, Turkey, northern Iraqi Kurdistan, Iraq, northwest Iranian Kurdistan, Iran, and northern Syrian Kurdistan, Syria. It is also spoken in northeast Iran, as well as in certain areas of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Kurdish Variety (linguistics), varieties constitute a dialect continuum, with some Mutual intelligibility, mutually unintelligible varieties, and collectively have 26 million native speakers. Firat Arslan
Firat Arslan (born 28 September 1970) is a German professional boxer. He held the World Boxing Association (WBA) cruiserweight title from 2007 to 2008. At regional level, he has held multiple cruiserweight championships, including the German title from 2004 to 2005. Professional career Southpaw Arslan began his professional career in 1997 and won his first 13 fights with aggressive brawling before dropping back to back decisions to Collice Mutizwa and Rüdiger May. His biggest success in the early phase of his career was a draw against unbeaten Russian Vadim Tokarev in 2003 but he lost his next fight to Czech Lubos Suda. In 2005 he beat local hero Alexander Petkovic and his career picked up momentum. Firat Ayverdi is a Kurdish film actor, born in 1990, best known for his lead role as young Bilal in French director Philippe Lioret's film ''Welcome'' about illegal immigration, a film that co-stars French actor Vincent Lindon. In 2010, Ayverdi was nominated for the prestigious French César Awards "Meilleur espoir masculin" (Most Promising Male Actor) for his role. Firat Cewerî
Firat Cewerî is a Kurdish writer, translator and journalist. He was born in the town of Derik near Mardin in southeastern Turkey. In the 1980s, he emigrated to Sweden, where he lives now. He started writing in Kurdish in the 1980s. He served as the editor of the Kurdish journal ''Nûdem'' for about 10 years. He has written more than ten books in Kurdish and translated literary works of John Steinbeck, Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Astrid Lindgren, Yaşar Kemal and Henning Mankell into Kurdish.
