Find Me (Happy Rhodes Album)
Find Me is Happy Rhodes most recent studio album, released October 19, 2007. Rhodes collaborated with artists who made contributions to the album, these include guitarist Bon Lozaga and bassist Hansford Rowe of Gongzilla, bassist Carl Adami, guitarists Teddy Kumpel and Jon Catler and pianist Rob Schwimmer. Overview Rhodes’ 11th studio album to be released, the songs were originally recorded in 2001 but due to the costs of mastering, the album was not released on public sale until October 2007. There are currently no singles released from the album and Rhodes had made no claims to be releasing one. To assist with the costs of recording and producing the CD herself, Rhodes released a “sampler” disc to fans in 2005 which consisted of 8 tracks from the album. These discs were sold at Rhodes’ live performances in January 2005 at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA. The left over discs were sold on the Ecto mailing list, selling out quickly. Happy Rhodes
Happy Rhodes (born Kimberley Tyler Rhodes, August 9, 1965) is an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and electronic musician with a four-octave vocal range, releasing 11 albums between 1986 and 2007. Family Rhodes' maternal grandfather Dave Stamper wrote songs for the Ziegfeld Follies of 1913 through 1931 and composed the music for several other Broadway shows. A family legend claims that Stamper wrote the well-known song "Shine On, Harvest Moon" in 1903 for Nora Bayes when he was working as her Vaudeville piano accompanist, but sold the rights and credit to Bayes and her husband Jack Norworth. Rhodes' parents divorced when she was young. Rhodes has two brothers who are twins. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Hansford Rowe (musician)
Hansford Rowe is a fusion bass guitarist. Basically a self-taught musician, Rowe started his career in playing bass in a local New York City band in jazz clubs until he met drummer Pierre Moerlen. He moved to France with Moerlen and became a member of Gong, taking part in their transformation into Pierre Moerlen's Gong (PMG) in 1977, playing on their albums ''Expresso II'', '' Downwind'', ''Live'', '' Time is the Key'' and '' Leave It Open''. In 1986, he appeared on a re-united PMG album ''Breakthrough'' and in 1988 on ''Second Wind'' and ''Full Circle Live '88''. As one of the world’s leading bassists, Rowe has worked with the likes of Mike Oldfield, Allan Holdsworth, John Martyn, Biréli Lagrène, La Monte Young, David “Fuze” Fiuczynski, Gary Husband and many others. Jon Catler is an American composer and guitarist specially known for playing microtonal guitars like 31-tone equal tempered guitar, a 62-tone just intonation guitar, and a fretless neck. He is the member of Catler Bros and Willie McBlind bands. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication).
