Final Conflict is an American hardcore punk band from Long Beach, California, formed in 1983. Their first album was ''Ashes to Ashes'', released in 1988. Over the years they went through various lineup changes; as of 2009, the only original member remaining was guitar player Jeff Harp. Another long-time member was vocalist Ron Martinez. Crossover thrash (often abbreviated to crossover) is a fusion genre of thrash metal and hardcore punk. The genre emerged in the mid-1980s, when hardcore punk bands, such as Suicidal Tendencies, Cryptic Slaughter, Corrosion of Conformity and Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, began to incorporate the influence of thrash metal. Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, Apparition 7" came next R003closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. Street punk (sometimes alternatively spelled streetpunk) is an urban working class-based subgenre of punk rock, which emerged as a rebellion against the perceived artistic pretensions of the first wave of British punk.
