''The Final Call'' () is a newspaper published in Chicago. It was founded in 1979 by Minister Louis Farrakhan and serves as the official newspaper of the Nation of Islam. The magazine acts as the group's tool to spread their agenda, goals and view of world events and natural disasters. History The original newspaper of The Nation of Islam was called ''The Final Call to Islam'' and was published by Nation of Islam Leader Messenger Elijah Muhammad in the 1930s. This small newspaper evolved into ''Muhammad Speaks'' in the 1960s and attracted a circulation of 900,000 per week, with monthly circulation of 2.5 million. ''The Final Call'' is the fourth and final segment of the "Matt Tilley's Gotcha Calls" CD series, which consists of 27 of the "gotcha" phone calls that were made by Matt Tilley between 2008 and 2009. The calls are written and performed by Tilley, and recorded by Troy Ellis, the anchor of Tilley's radio show, The Matt & Jo Show on Fox FM. Alan Davey (musician)
Alan Davey (born 11 September 1963 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England) is an English musician, best known as the former bassist with Hawkwind. He is the original bass player in Gunslinger which started in 1979 and is still the bass player and vocalist for Gunslinger. He was writing a new album for 2018 release on Cleopatra Records, as well as two solo albums for 2018 and 2019 release, and is also writing music for movies and TV shows. He has also played and recorded with Meads of Asphodel, Dumpy's Rusty Nuts, Spirits Burning, Bedouin (1998-2003). He formed with the newly re-imagined Hawklords in 2008 with Nik Turner until 2012 and since then formed The Psychedelic Warlords in 2013 until 2015. Early musical career Davey formed his first band, Gunslinger, in 1979 with his cousin Nigel Potter. ''Contact'' is the second major label album by Thirteen Senses. Released in the UK on the 2 April 2007, it includes the single " All the Love in Your Hands". The album had originally been scheduled for release on 22 January, but due to more songs being written and recorded, the release was postponed. The band issued a statement on 12 December apologising for the delay and explaining that "our creative juices continued to flow, and we came up with some more material that we couldn't ignore. As a result, we had to record these songs leading to missed production deadlines." As a result of this, "Talking to Sirens" was added to the final record and the song "Final Call" from the promotional CD release of the album was taken out.
