Filip Ostrowski
Filip Ostrowski (born 12 July 2001) is a Polish track and field athlete. In 2023, he became Polish national champion in the 1500 metres. Career In 2020, he moved Łódź to join the training group of coach Stanisław Jaszczak. That year he lowered his 800 meters personal best to 1:46.89. In August 2022, he won Polish U23 titles in both 800 metres and 1500 metres. In May 2023, he lowered his 800m personal best to 1:45.62, out sprinting Robert Farken in Karlsruhe. In July 2023, he qualified for the final of the 1500m at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo, Finland. Later that month he became Polish champion for the first time, winning the 1500m title at the Polish Championships. At the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, he qualified for the semi-finals of the 800m. Golden Spike () is an annual athletics event at the Městský Stadion in Ostrava- Vítkovice, Czech Republic as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings. It was first organized in 1961. 2023 World Athletics Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Championships (), the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, were held from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the National Athletics Centre (Budapest), National Athletics Centre, in Budapest, Hungary. The tournament returned to its usual two-year cycle after the previous event in Eugene, Oregon, United States was postponed to 2022, held a little 13 months earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are the first World Athletics Championships in Hungary. The city of Budapest had previously stated an interest in hosting the 2007 World Championships in Athletics, 2007 World Championships, but withdrew and it was eventually held in Osaka. 800m
The 800 metres, or 800 meters ( US spelling), is a common track running event. It is the shortest commonly run middle-distance running event. The 800 metres is run over two laps of an outdoor (400-metre) track and has been an Olympic event since the first modern games in 1896. During the winter track season the event is usually run by completing four laps of an indoor 200-metre track. The event was derived from the imperial measurement of a half mile (880 yards), a traditional British racing distance. 800 m is 4.67 m less than a half mile. The event combines aerobic endurance with anaerobic conditioning and sprint speed, so the 800m athlete has to combine training for both. Runners in this event are occasionally fast enough to also compete in the 400 metres but more commonly have enough endurance to 'double up' in the 1500m. Robert Farken
Robert Farken (born 20 September 1997) is a German middle distance runner. In 2025, he became German national record holder over 1500 metres and the mile run, and is a multiple-time German champion. Career From Leipzig, and a high school graduate at the sports high school there. He had a promising start to his career before an achilles tendon injury slowed his progress. In 2016 Farken was runner-up over 800m at the German youth indoor championships. In the same year he was the fastest U20 runner in Europe over 800m. Farken ran this best time at the evening sports festival in Pfungstadt, but this came after the selection period for participation in the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz had finished so he was not able to compete. In 2017 Farken became German indoor champion over 800 meters in his first start in the men's class in Leipzig.
