''Figure Number Five'' is the fifth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. The record was released on 22 April 2003 through Nuclear Blast label. On this release, the band introduces more elements of alternative metal into their melodic death metal style. This would be the last album with Henry Ranta on drums before he left the band after its release. A few different editions of this album existed upon release. The normal release with eleven tracks, as well as a limited edition release with a second CD including their 1997 demo ''In Dreams We Fall into the Eternal Lake'' plus two songs from the '' Steelbath Suicide'' demo session. The limited vinyl version of the album features two discs - this album and '' Natural Born Chaos'', black and the other a white-colored vinyl. Soilwork
Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg. They have released twelve studio albums. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, the band was originally known as ''Inferior Breed''. In late 1996, they changed their name to Soilwork, which means "working from the ground up". History Early years (1995–2000) The band was formed in late 1995, originally under the name Inferior Breed. Their sound, as explained by "Speed," was influenced by bands such as Pantera, Meshuggah, and Carcass. Peter Wichers
Peter Wichers (born 8 February 1979) is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and record producer best known as one of the founding members of melodic death metal band Soilwork. From 1995 until late 2005, when he announced his departure from the band, and again from 2008 until 2012 he was the lead guitarist and songwriter, especially on their '' Stabbing the Drama'' album. Rejoining 18 September 2008, it was announced that Wichers had rejoined Soilwork in his previous role. Having joined the band again, Wichers accompanied Soilwork on their European tour in late 2008 and the American tour in early 2009. Once the tour was finished, the band wrote and recorded '' The Panic Broadcast'' album. On 25 June 2012 it was announced that Wichers left the band for the second time, due to creative differences.
