Fighting Gravity (band)
Fighting Gravity is an American music group based out of Richmond, Virginia. Originally a ska band called bOb (boy O boy), Fighting Gravity has incorporated a variety of other music styles, including reggae, rock, and world beat. Fighting Gravity was formed while its original members were attending Virginia Tech In August 1997, Fighting Gravity was the subject of a seven-page article in ''Rolling Stone'' by senior editor David Wild as part of the summer college issue. The band has maintained a large fanbase. History In 2007, Fighting Gravity, along with Dave Matthews Band, Barenaked Ladies, Guster, and O.A.R., took part in the IZStyle Winter Tour, a series of concerts aimed at raising awareness of alternative and renewable energy sources. The band's last official shows were in the 2007 time frame. Deep Run High School
Deep Run High School is a part magnet high school in Henrico County, Virginia, United States. It is named after Deep Run School, one of Henrico County's first schools which was a two-room schoolhouse that can still be found on the grounds of Short Pump Elementary School. The school had approximately 1,900 students and over 135 faculty members during the 2022-2023 school year. About 200 students are part of the Center for Information Technology, a highly competitive magnet program open to all county residents. Deep Run is consistently highly ranked. In the 2023 rankings, U.S. News & World Report, which ranked 17,680 schools, ranked Deep Run High School #1 in Henrico County, #3 in the Richmond metro area, #11 in Virginia, #90 in national magnet high schools, and #567 nationally. Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers were an American rock band formed in Western Massachusetts in 2003. The band features lead singer and founding member Stephen Kellogg (born November 28, 1976) piano and bass player Kit Karlson (born September 22, 1976), drummer Brian "Boots" Factor (born August 14, 1979), and electric guitar/pedal steel player Sam Getz (born October 17, 1983). Collegiate School is a private, day, preparatory school for boys and girls located in Richmond, Virginia, United States. The student body of Collegiate comprises about 1,600 total students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Lower School and Upper School are coeducational, while the Middle School is coordinated with boys and girls in separate classes. History Collegiate was founded in 1915, by Helen Baker as the Collegiate School for Girls, a college preparatory school located in downtown Richmond. In addition to this campus in town, Collegiate opened the Collegiate Country Day School, off Mooreland and River roads, in 1953 Collegiate's Town School and the Country Day School merged on Mooreland Road in 1960. The NorVa is a performing venue located in Norfolk, Virginia, the name being a syllabic abbreviation of the city and state of its location. About The theatre was the brainchild of local music venue entrepreneurs Bill Reid and Rick Mersel, who have also developed the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion and have ties to the development of Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.
