Fetish Records
Fetish Records was a British independent record label. Its artist roster consisted of largely early industrial, experimental, and post-punk groups. It was also a home to the early works of graphic designer Neville Brody, who created artwork for releases as art director for the label. History Rod Pearce founded the label in 1978 and reissued Throbbing Gristle's debut release ''The Second Annual Report'' after its initial pressing on the group's own Industrial Records had sold out. Fetish's final release was the compilation album ''The Last Testament'' in 1983, which featured a sleeve note written by Jon Savage. The Bongos
The Bongos are a power pop band from Hoboken, New Jersey, that emerged from the New York City arts scene, primarily active in the 1980s, led by Richard Barone. With their unique musical style, they were major progenitors of the Hoboken indie-pop community, college radio favorites, and made the leap to national recognition with the advent of MTV. Their breakthrough song "Numbers with Wings" garnered the group a major cult following and was nominated at the first MTV Video Music Awards. Along with a handful of others, the Bongos were instrumental in the advancement of the alternative rock movement. Bush Tetras are an American post-punk No Wave band from New York City, formed in 1979. Clock DVA are a musical group from Sheffield, England, whose style has touched on industrial music, industrial, post-punk, and Electronic body music, EBM. They formed in 1978 by Adi Newton (born Gary Coates) and Steven "Judd" Turner. 8 Eyed Spy was an American no wave band from New York City, consisting of Lydia Lunch (ex-Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and Beirut Slump) and Jim Sclavunos (also ex-Teenage Jesus and Beirut Slump), Michael Paumgardhen, Pat Irwin and George Scott III. The group was active from 1979 to 1980. Background 8 Eyed Spy played their first New York City show in October 1979 at the Mudd Club. Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions. Experimental compositional practice is defined broadly by exploratory sensibilities radically opposed to, and questioning of, institutionalized compositional, performing, and aesthetic conventions in music. Elements of experimental music include Indeterminacy in music, indeterminacy, in which the composer introduces the elements of chance or unpredictability with regard to either the composition or its performance.
