Cinémental
Cinémental is a film festival, staged annually in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event, which presents an annual program of Canadian and international French language films for the Franco-Manitoban community, takes place primarily at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre in the city's Saint Boniface district, although some screenings and events are also sometimes held at other venues in the city. In order to ensure that non-francophones are also welcome and able to attend, the festival presents the majority of its films in subtitled form. Launched in 1991, the event is staged partially in collaboration with Tournée Québec Cinéma. In 2016, the festival was given a special tribute in honour of its 25th anniversary at the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma festival in Montreal. The Canadian International Comedy Film Festival (CICFF), formerly the Shärt International Comedy Film Festival (SICFF), is a comedy film festival that takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, each February. The 10th festival took place on 8 October 2022, at the Cinematheque theatre and the Park Theatre. History The festival was established by Andrew Wall and David Rabsch in 2013 as the Shärt International Comedy Film Festival (SICFF), funded through a grant by a Winnipeg family via the Shärt Foundation. The Winnipeg Comedy Festival (WCF) is an annual national comedy festival, held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The week-long festival takes place at several venues throughout the city, featuring Stand-up comedy, stand-up, Sketch comedy, sketch, and improvisational comedy. The TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival is a Canadian jazz festival first held in 1989 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is usually held in June. The festival, organized by the Jazz Winnipeg organization and formerly called the Jazz Winnipeg Festival, features Canadian and international musicians in several jazz genres. The Winnipeg Folk Festival is a nonprofit charitable organization with an annual summer folk music festival held in Birds Hill Provincial Park, near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
