Ferney-Voltaire
Ferney-Voltaire () is a commune in the Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. It lies between the Jura Mountains and the Swiss border; it forms part of the metropolitan area of Geneva. It is named for Voltaire, who lived there from 1758. History Ferney was first noted in 14th-century Burgundian registers as "Fernex" and changed several times until the 19th century to Fernay, Fernaj, Fernai or Fernex before adopting its current name as 'Ferney-Voltaire' in 1791, after the French Revolution which saw a number of city names unchristened and then given more republican names. During Voltaire's residence in Ferney in the second part of the 18th century, the town saw rapid expansion. Saint-Genis-Pouilly (; ) is a Communes of France, commune in the Ain Departments of France, department within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regions of France, region of eastern France. Prévessin-Moëns () is a commune in the Department of Ain, in France. It is located in the western suburbs of Geneva. Geography The commune of Prévessin-Moëns is situated between the Jura mountains and the Alps, with a view of Mont Blanc. Originally founded as a combination of the communes of Prévessin and Moëns, the commune now also includes the hamlets of Magny, les Aglands, Brétigny, and Vésegnin. Founded as an agricultural commune, Prévessin-Moëns has transformed into a low-rise housing community populated mostly by "frontalier(e)s" who work across the Swiss border in the canton of Geneva. Château De Voltaire
The Château de Voltaire is located in Ferney-Voltaire (Ain) in France, close to the border with Switzerland and the city of Geneva. It was Voltaire's home between 1761 and 1778. Marie Louise Mignot (February 12, 1712 – August 10, 1790) was a French literary figure. Harrikrisna Anenden (born 1947) is a Mauritian film director. Biography Anenden was born in Mauritius in 1947. He began taking photographs at age 12 and later moved to London to study medical photography. He graduated from the London Film School and studied film criticism at the University of London. Anenden has worked as a photographer and lab technician for several employers including the University of Mauritius. In 1980, he made his film debut with ''L’Argile et la Flamme''. Saphia Azzeddine (born 12 December 1979) is a French naturalized Moroccan writer, actress, and screenwriter. Biography Saphia Azzeddine lived in Agadir during her early days of life.
