Ferncroft Country Club is a country club owned and operated by Affinity Management, located in Essex County, Massachusetts with portions of the club's grounds in the towns of Middleton and Topsfield. The club's entrance is at 10 Village Road in Middleton. Facilities Golf facilities The club's championship golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones. It hosted the LPGA's Boston Five Classic from 1980 through 1990. The total yardage of the course from the back tees is 6,632, and it plays at a par of 72 for men and 73 for ladies. The Boston Lobsters were a World TeamTennis team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Lobsters played home matches at the Walter Brown Arena, Boston University, in Boston, MA. The most recent Boston Lobsters were a reincarnation of two previous WTT teams. The original Lobsters were a charter member of the league in 1974, and folded after just one season. The second Lobsters team were also a charter member of WTT in 1974, founded as the Philadelphia Freedoms. After the original Lobsters folded, businessman Robert Kraft purchased the Freedoms and moved them to Boston, renaming them the Lobsters. The 2008 Boston Lobsters season was the fourth season of the franchise (in its current incarnation) in World TeamTennis (WTT).
