Fernando Ribeiro
Fernando Ribeiro (born August 26, 1974) is a Portuguese singer, vocalist, and lyricist for the Portuguese gothic metal band Moonspell. In addition to this activity, he is also a writer and translator. Life and career Raised in Brandoa, just outside of Lisbon, Fernando Ribeiro formed Morbid God in 1989, which later changed its name to Moonspell in 1992. Concurrently with his musical endeavors, as a young adult, Ribeiro studied philosophy at the University of Lisbon for a period of time with the unfulfilled aim of becoming a high school philosophy teacher. He has published three books of poetry, namely, Como Escavar um Abismo (2001), As Feridas Essenciais (2004), and Diálogo de Vultos (2007). He has also written a book of prose, Senhora Vingança (2011). He also took part in the project "A Sombra Sobre Lisboa - Lovecraftian Tales in the City of Seven Hills". Nuno Miguel Cândido Gonçalves, better known as Nuno Gonçalves, is a Portuguese musician, composer and pianist-keyboardist, founder and band member of the Portuguese band The Gift. Some of the band's biggest hits were created by him, including ''Music'', ''Driving You Slow'', ''Fácil de Entender'', ''Primavera'' and ''Clássico''. The Gift (band)
The Gift is a Portuguese alternative rock band, formed in 1994. They have released eight albums to date. In 2005 they won the MTV Europe award for best Portuguese act. Biography Formed in 1994, The Gift's original line-up was Sónia Tavares, Nuno and John Gonçalves, Miguel Ribeiro, and Ricardo Braga. Their first show was at the Alcobaça Monastery in July 1995, followed by the Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbon in September 1996, and the Labirintho Bar in Porto in November 1996. The 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon earthquake, impacted Portugal, the Iberian Peninsula, and Northwest Africa on the morning of Saturday, 1 November, All Saints' Day, Feast of All Saints, at around 09:40 local time.
