Fernando Lamikiz
Fernando Lamikiz Garai (born 1959 in Guernica, Biscay, Basque Country, Spain) is a lawyer, economist and former president of Athletic Bilbao. ''Lamikiz'' studied economic law at the Deusto University. After further studying in Munich, he returned to Deusto as a lecturer in Civil Rights. He was member of the board of directors of Athletic from 1994 to 2001, heading the legal department. He was president of Athletic from September 2004, until his resignation in September 2006. Guernica (town)
Guernica (, ), official name (reflecting the Basque language) Gernika (), is a town in the province of Biscay, in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, Spain. The town of Guernica is one part (along with neighbouring Lumo) of the municipality of Gernika-Lumo ( es, Guernica y Luno), whose population is 16,224 . On April 26, 1937, Guernica was bombed by Nazi Germany's Luftwaffe, in one of the first aerial bombings. The attack inspired Pablo Picasso's painting ''Guernica'', depicting his outrage at the attack. Location The village is situated in the region of Busturialdea, in the valley of the Oka river. Ana Urkijo Elorriaga (born 1954, name alternatively spelled Urquijo) is a Spanish lawyer who was the president of Basque football club Athletic Bilbao from 2006 to 2007. A member of Athletic since 1969, Urkijo practised as a lawyer and a real estate agent before becoming involved in her hometown club. Her father Rufino served as vice-president of Athletic in the 1970s and 80s.
