Fera (band)
Fera is a Canadian pop rock/singer-songwriter duo composed of twin sisters Courtney and Stephanie Fera. Over the past ten years Fera has recorded three albums: ''The Music Room'' (2005) – produced by Paul Airey (Michael Bublé); ''Familiar Feeling'' (2007) – produced by CCMA award-winner Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett, One More Girl); and a 2009 self-titled EP, produced by McKillip and Paul Shatto (The Higgins). Biography Born and raised in suburban Vancouver, B.C., the songwriting sisters grew up in a musical household--their father was a musician and there was a recording studio in the family home. Merritt Mountain Music Festival
Merritt Mountain Music Festival was an outdoor music festival in Merritt, British Columbia, Canada. In 2005, the festival hosted a record breaking attendance of approximately 148,000 people throughout the 6 day event. In 2009, the festival ownership stated that they may not return in 2010 due to disappointing attendance unless a financial partner can be found. Jessie Farrell is a Canadian country music singer. At the 2007 Canadian Country Music Awards, Farrell was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and the Chevy Rising Star Award. Anthem Records is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company was formed in May 1977 by Ray Danniels and Vic Wilson with initial recording artists Rush, Max Webster, Liverpool and A Foot in Coldwater. The three members of Rush, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson became associate directors of Anthem. Background The label's predecessor was Moon Records. Anthem was formed so that Rush would have more control of their work at home in Canada (their international deal with Mercury Records initially included Canada), and so other Canadian bands would have a home, as they could not get signed by the major labels' offices in Toronto or Montreal. The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) was founded in 1976 as the Academy of Country Music Entertainment to organize, promote and develop a Canadian country music industry. The groundwork for the association began on June 3rd, 1973 when a group of twelve entertainers, promoters and radio personalities met at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, Ontario and formed a Board of Directors to help promote Canadian content. Lisa Brokop (born June 6, 1973) is a Canadian country music singer/songwriter and actress. Active since 1990 in the country music field, she has released a total of seven studio albums and has charted more than twenty singles on the country music charts in her native Canada. Prairie Oyster was a Canadian country music group from Toronto, Ontario. They were named Country Group or Duo of the year six times by both the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) and the Juno Awards. Pop Rock
