Feniton Railway Station
Feniton railway station serves the village of Feniton in Devon, England. It was opened by the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) in 1860 but is now operated by South Western Railway which provides services on the West of England Main Line. It is down the line from . History The station was designed by William Tite and was opened by the LSWR on 19 July 1860, along with its Exeter Extension from to Exeter Queen Street. It was named Feniton after the nearest village, but less than a year later it was renamed (on 1 July 1861) as Ottery and Sidmouth Road. In February 1868 this was changed again to Feniton for Ottery St Mary. On 6 July 1874 a branch line to was opened and the station changed its name once more to become Sidmouth Junction, a name that it managed to retain for more than 90 years. Tiverton And Honiton (UK Parliament Constituency)
Tiverton and Honiton is a constituency in Devon, England. The current MP is Richard Foord of the Liberal Democrats, elected at a by-election on 23 June 2022. Prior to the by-election, the constituency had always returned a Conservative MP since its creation in 1997. The by-election was held following the resignation of Neil Parish after he was caught watching pornography in the House of Commons chamber (Parish himself admitted to doing so on two separate occasions). Talaton
Talaton is a village and a civil parish in the English county of Devon. It lies approximately 6 miles to the west of Honiton, 3 miles to the north of Ottery St Mary, 2 miles to the west of Feniton and 2 miles to the east of Whimple. The parish covers an area of 965 hectares (2,384 acres). The parish population was estimated to be 590 in 2012. Description The name Talaton (''Taletone'' in Domesday Book, 1086) means 'farmstead on the River Tale', a tributary of the River Otter, whose name is in turn derived from the Old English word ''getæl'' meaning 'quick, active or swift'. The parish includes Larkbeare hamlet and part of Fairmile hamlet. Payhembury is a village and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. The village is about six miles west of Honiton. At the time of the 2011 the parish had a population of 682, and it is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Broadhembury, Awliscombe, Buckerell, Feniton, Talaton, Clyst Hydon and Plymtree. East Devon
East Devon is a local government district in Devon, England. Its council has been based in Honiton since February 2019, and the largest town is Exmouth (with a population of 34,432 at the time of the 2011 census). The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the borough of Honiton with the urban districts of Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Ottery St. Mary, Seaton, Sidmouth along with Axminster Rural District, Honiton Rural District and part of St Thomas Rural District.
