Felix Thijssen
Felix Thijssen (24 November 1933 – 26 July 2022) was a Dutch author of crime novels, science fiction novels and books for children. In 1999 he won the " Gouden Strop", prize for the best Dutch crime novel, for "Cleopatra". In 2006 he won the "Diamanten Kogel", Belgian prize for the best crime novel, for "Het diepe water" (Deep water). Rijswijk (), formerly known as Ryswick ( ) in English, is a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Its population was in , and it has an area of , of which is water. The municipality also includes the former villages 't Haantje and Sion, currently also known as Rijswijk-Buiten. The Gouden Strop (i.e. 'Golden Noose') is the annual award for the best crime novel in the Dutch language. The prize has been awarded since 1986. The winner receives € 10,000 and a statuette. Diamanten Kogel
The Diamanten Kogel (i.e. Diamond Bullet) is an annual award for the best original Dutch crime novel. It is awarded by the Genootschap van Vlaamse Misdaadauteurs in Belgium. The Gouden Strop is its counterpart in the Netherlands. The award consists of a silver knuckle-duster with four diamonds, designed by Wim Delvoye.
