Club career Vélez Sarsfield Freire began his professional career with Argentine outfit, Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield, Vélez Sarsfield in 2011, earning his first call-up on 29 May 2011, in a 2–1 loss against Tigre. Gustavo Alfaro
Gustavo Julio Alfaro (born 14 August 1962) is an Argentine football manager and former player who manages the Paraguay national football team. Although Alfaro had a short career as a footballer, he was captain of the Atlético de Rafaela when they were promoted to the Argentine Primera División in 1989. Alfaro retired as a player from football in 1992 to concentrate on his coaching career. His first league title came with Arsenal de Sarandí in the 2012 Clausura. 2012–13 Argentine Primera División Season
The 2012–13 Primera División season was the 122nd season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. It started on August 3, 2012 and ended on June 29, 2013. Twenty teams competed in the league, eighteen returning from the 2011–12 season and two promoted from the Primera B Nacional Championship (Championship winners River Plate and runners-up Quilmes). The two promoted clubs avoided relegation. In the first half of the season Vélez Sarsfield became champion of the 2012 Torneo Inicial "Eva Perón", winning the “Evita Capitana” League Cup. In the second one Newell's Old Boys clinched the 2013 Torneo Final "Eva Perón", winning the “Juana Azurduy” League Cup. In the Superfinal Vélez Sarsfield were crowned Argentina's Super champions after a 1–0 victory over Newell's Old Boys in Mendoza. The 2010–11 Primera División season was the 120th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. A total of 20 teams competed in two championships —the Apertura and Clausura— over the course of the season, which started on 6 August 2010 and ended on 30 June 2011, one day prior to the start of the 2011 Copa América, held in Argentina. Club information Twenty clubs participated in the 2010–11 season. Chacarita Juniors and Atlético Tucumán were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season. They were replaced by Olimpo and Quilmes, both of whom were promoted from the Primera B Nacional. Rosario Central and Gimnasia y Esgrima (LP) played in the relegation/promotion playoffs against All Boys and Atlético de Rafaela, respectively, to determine the other two teams for this season.
