Fayyaz Hussain Shah
Syed Fayyaz Hussain Shah is a three-star general in the Pakistan Army and currently serving as the Corps Commander of IV Corps based in Lahore as of January 2025. Military career Shah completed his education from Military College Jhelum and joined Pakistan Military Academy. He was commissioned into the Sindh Regiment through the 80th PMA Long Course. Shah has held various commands in his career. As a major general, he served as Inspector General, Frontier Corps Balochistan (North). He also served as Dean of the National Defence University, Pakistan. He also served as Director General of Doctrine and Evaluation. Lieutenant General (Pakistan)
Lieutenant General is a Three-star rank, three-star army officer rank in the Pakistan Army. It is equivalent to a vice admiral in the Pakistan Navy and an air marshal in the Pakistan Air Force. A lieutenant general is also called a three-star General (Pakistan), general. Like other armies, this rank is higher than a major general and lower than a full general. There are currently 30 Lieutenant Generals in the Pakistan Army, with each usually presiding over a corps. Pakistan Military Academy
Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) is a military academy located nearby Kakul village in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Established in October 1947, it is the only service academy in Pakistan that trains cadets to serve as army officers. For educational training, the institution is accredited by the National University of Sciences & Technology. The PMA hosts approximately 2,000 guests representing over 34 countries annually. The National Defence University (NDU), formerly introduced as Army War Course (1963–70), the National Defence College (1970–2007), is the military university of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan focused on military education and training for the armed forces, including Pakistan military forces and two hundred foreign participants. Sindh Regiment
The Sindh Regiment (, ) (previously Sind Regiment) is an infantry regiment of the Pakistan Army established on 1 July 1980. The regiment takes its name from Sindh province in southern Pakistan. Prior to its formation there had been no regiment in the Pakistan Army specifically intended to recruit primarily from the Sindhi population. The regimental centre is located in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. History Since independence in 1947, the Pakistan Army had been dominated by Punjabis, with as much as 77% of army personnel. A specific regiment was created to address concerns of underrepresentation of Sindhis. Military College Jhelum (MCJ) is a feeder college to the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, Pakistan. The college is one of three military colleges in Pakistan; the others being Military College Murree and Military College Sui. The ''Hilal-e-Imtiaz'' (; ), also spelled as ''Hilal-i-Imtiaz,'' is the second-highest (in the order of "Imtiaz") civilian award and honour given to both civilians and military officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces by the Government of Pakistan. It recognises individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavors". It is a civilian award, and not limited to the citizens of Pakistan.
