Maria Faustyna Kowalska of the Blessed Sacrament, Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, OLM (born Helena Kowalska; 25 August 1905 – 5 October 1938) was a Catholic Church in Poland, Polish Catholic religious sister and Christian mystic, mystic. Faustyna, popularly spelled "Faustina", had Visions of Jesus and Mary, apparitions of Jesus Christ which inspired the Catholic devotions, Catholic devotion to the Divine Mercy (Catholic devotion), Divine Mercy, therefore she is sometimes called the "secretary" of Divine Mercy. ''A Void'', translated from the original French ( "The Disappearance"), is a 300-page French lipogrammatic novel, written in 1969 by Georges Perec, entirely without using the letter '' e'', following Oulipo constraints. Perec would go on to write with the inverse constraint in ''Les Revenentes'', with only the vowel “e” present in the work. Ian Monk would later translate ''Les Revenentes'' into English under the title ''The Exeter Text.'' Translations It was translated into English by Gilbert Adair, with the title ''A Void'', for which he won the Scott Moncrieff Prize in 1995. The Adair translation of the book also won the 1996 Firecracker Alternative Book Award for Fiction. Faustina Woo Wai Sii (; born 21 June 1992) is a retired Bruneian wushu athlete of Chinese descent specialising in tai chi. Career It was the first time the sultanate had taken home a medal in an international Wushu tournament when Woo and Lee Ying Shi took home the bronze at the 5th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in Macau, China, in June 2009.
