Fathimath Ibrahim (; born 9 September 1960) served as the first lady of the Maldives from 2013 to 2018 as the wife of Abdulla Yameen, the 6th president of the Maldives. She was the first person wearing a hijab, to become first lady in the Maldivian history. Early life Fathimath Ibrahim was born on 9 September 1960. She was the daughter of Aishath Moosa (1936–2016). Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom (; born 21 May 1959) is a Maldivian politician who served as president of the Maldives from 2013 to 2018. Yameen was elected president in the 2013 presidential election as the candidate of the Progressive Party (PPM), defeating Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) leader and former president Mohamed Nasheed in the second round of the re-run, after the initial election was annulled. He was the second democratically elected president of the Republic of the Maldives. Yameen's presidential tenure oversaw a number of infrastructure development projects, such as airports and healthcare facilities, most of which were financed through loans from the Chinese government. His presidency was rife with allegations of human rights infringements and corruption. Sajidha Mohamed ( , ; born 6 August 1978) often referred to as Saaji, is a Maldivian civil servant and the current first lady of the Maldives since November 2023 as the wife of president Mohamed Muizzu. Born on Malé, Sajidha completed Master's degree in the University of Leeds with her husband in the United Kingdom. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in the St. Joseph's University in 2003. Nasreena Ibrahim
Nasreena Ibrahim (born 20 December 1950) is a Maldivian activist who was the first lady of the Maldives from November 1978 to November 2008, as the wife of president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. She is the longest tenured first lady in history of the Maldives. Raised in Malé, Ibrahim studied from Cairo, Egypt, where she also met her future husband Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, and married in Cairo. The following year, she gave birth to twins, Dunya and Yumna, followed by Faris, and Ghassan, who was born during her tenure as first lady. Naseema Mohamed
Naseema Mohamed, (also known as Naseema Mohamed Kaleyfaanu) was the former First Lady of the Maldives from 1969 to 1978 and the third wife of former President of the Maldives, President Ibrahim Nasir. After Ibrahim Nasir went into self-exile to Singapore on 7 December 1978, Naseema continued to live in Male' and worked as a historian for the National Centre for Linguistic and Historic Research.
