Adele Farrington
Adele Farrington (1867 – 19 December 1936) was an American actress of the silent film era. Biography Born Anna King in Brooklyn, New York, Farrington was a stage actress before appearing in 74 films between 1914 and 1926. She was a relatively old actress for the silent film era, being 47 at the beginning of her film career. She appeared in many films directed by Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley. Her husband was film director and actor Hobart Bosworth, in whose films she also often appeared. They divorced and Bosworth remarried to a younger woman and had a small child by 1920. She died in Los Angeles, California. Harry Webb Farrington (1879–1930) was an American author, poet, hymn writer, preacher, soldier, and educator. He was an orphan who lived in Baltimore, Maryland, Bel Air, Maryland, and Darlington, Maryland. He is famous still as being a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church and witnessing the great revivals of the late 1890s. The story of his life comes from one of his books, ''Kilts to Togs: Orphan Adventures'' (1930). He is also the author of ''Cher Ami'' (1926), ''Rough and Brown'', ''Walls of America'' (1925), and ''Roosevelt the Righteous'' (1925). He also wrote ''Poems from France'' in 1920. Mark Anthony Farrington (born 15 June 1965) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Farrington began his career as a youth player with Everton, for whom he played in the 1983 FA Youth Cup final. He failed to secure a professional contract with the Toffees and was released several weeks after the final and instead joined the side that defeated Everton in the final, Norwich City, after impressing manager Ken Brown. He made his debut for Norwich at the end of the 1983–84 season in a match against Coventry City in May 1984 and made a further 17 appearances in all competitions with the club. Kenneth William Farrington (born 18 April 1936) is a retired English actor. He first came to fame playing the role of Billy Walker, wayward son of publican Annie, in ITV's long-running soap opera, ''Coronation Street''. Following a brief period as a film actor, Farrington secured the role of power-hungry Tom King in ''Emmerdale''. After the character's high-profile death in December 2006, Farrington largely retired from acting, although he has appeared in occasional TV roles since then. Kaitlyn Brooke Farrington (born December 18, 1989) is an American former professional snowboarder who grew up on a cattle ranch near Bellevue, Idaho, and now lives in Whitefish, Montana. She won the gold medal in the women's half-pipe competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Josephine Farrington, Baroness Farrington of Ribbleton (née Cayless; 29 June 1940 – 30 March 2018) was a British Labour Party politician, active in local government internationally before her elevation to the Lords in 1994. Joseph Rider Farrington (October 15, 1897 – June 19, 1954) was an American newspaper editor and statesman who served in the United States Congress as delegate for the Territory of Hawai'i. Education and military career Farrington was born in Washington, D.C. to Wallace Rider Farrington, the future Territorial Governor of Hawai'i. While still an infant, he moved to Honolulu, Hawai'i with his parents where his father began work as an editor for the '' Honolulu Advertiser'' and later the ''Honolulu Star-Bulletin'' newspapers. John Farrington (c.1609 – 1680) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1660 and 1680. Farrington was the son of Thomas Farrington of Chichester and his wife Dorothy Payne, daughter of Henry Payne of Chichester. His father was mayor of Chichester four times. He matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford on 30 June 1626, aged 17. In 1633 he was a student of Gray's Inn. He was involved in an attempt to rescue three Royalists in the city in 1647. He succeeded his father in 1654. In 1660, he was elected Member of Parliament for Chichester for the Convention Parliament when he was involved in a double return but was seated on the merits of the election. John Allan Farrington (born 2 July 1942) is a former long-distance runner from Australia, who represented his native country in the men's marathon at the 1968 Summer Olympics. There he finished in 43rd position, clocking 2:50:16.8. He came in fifth in the same event at the 1974 Commonwealth Games. Farrington claimed four national titles in the marathon (1969, 1970, 1974, and 1975). His PR in the marathon came at the 1973 New South Wales Championships in which he ran 2:11:12.6, which was the fastest marathon in the world that year.
