Farinole
Farinole () is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. The village is located between the mountains and the sea between Saint-Florent and Negro with the two hamlets of Sparagaggio and Bracolaccia. It has good views of the gulf and the Désert des Agriates. The village has two sandy beaches and a pebble beach. Torra Di Ferringule
The Tower of Ferringule (, ) is a Genoese tower located in the commune of Farinole (Haute-Corse) on the west coast of Cap Corse. The tower was one of a series of coastal defences built by the Republic of Genoa between 1530 and 1620 to stem the attacks by Barbary pirates. The tower was built in 1562 and is included in a list compiled by the Genoese authorities in 1617 that records that the tower was guarded at night by two men who were paid by the village of Farinole. In 1993 the tower was listed as one of the official historical monuments of France. Saint-Florent, Haute-Corse
Saint-Florent (; , ; , ) is a commune in Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica, France. Originally a fishing port located in the gulf of the same name, pleasure boats have now largely taken the place of fishing vessels. Today, it is a popular summer vacation spot for many tourists because of its proximity to the Patrimonio vineyards and the Saleccia beach. History Saint-Florent was created by the Genoese in the 16th century as a base to carry out repressive operations against the Corsican patriots in the surrounding villages. France later used it to disembark hordes of mercenaries and colonists during August 1764 in order to subjugate the independent Corsican people.
