Faramarz Khodnegah
Faramarz Khodnegah ( fa, فرامرز خودنگاه; born 1965) is an Iranian former Strongman and Powerlifter. He currently is the official referee of Iran's Strongest Man since its first period. Khodnegah was a weightlifter, but he had to leave this due to an injury. Some strongmen like Mehrab Fatemi, the former champion of Iran's Strongest Man, and his older brother Mehdi Fatemi, claims that Khodnegah is not an athlete. Although they, together with Ali Esmaeili and Mojtaba Maleki, believe that he hasn't do a fair and neutral refereeing in recent Iran's Strongest Man competitions to make Rouhollah Dadashi win., Khodnegah denied it himself. Powerlifting
Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. As in the sport of Olympic weightlifting, it involves the athlete attempting a maximal weight single-lift effort of a barbell loaded with weight plates. Powerlifting evolved from a sport known as "odd lifts", which followed the same three-attempt format but used a wider variety of events, akin to strongman competition. Eventually odd lifts became standardized to the current three. In competition, lifts may be performed equipped or un-equipped (typically referred to as 'classic' or 'raw' lifting in the IPF specifically). In the 19th century, the term strongman referred to an exhibitor of strength or similar circus performers who performed feats of strength. More recently, strength athletics, also known as strongman competitions, have grown in popularity. These competitions are now composed of a variety of events in which competitors have to move the highest weights possible, the winner being the one having the highest tally across all events. Iran's Strongest Man ( fa, قویترین مرد ایران) (also called Mardān-e Āhanin; Persian: ) is the only televised annual strongman event in Iran, airs on Channel 3. Mojtaba Maleki ( fa, مجتبی ملکی; born 1983) is an Iranian Strongman and Powerlifter, competing for Iran in international strongman and powerlifting competitions. He participated six times in Iran's Strongest Man competition, placing runner-up in three (2001, 2004–2005). He reached the world record of raw squat with knee wraps, 500 kg, on 21 September 2017. Rouhollah Dadashi
Rouhollah Dadashi ( fa, روحالله داداشی; January 24, 1982 – July 16, 2011) was an Iranian powerlifter, bodybuilder and strongman, competing for Iran in international strongman competitions. He participated five times in Iran's Strongest Man competition, reaching the final round each time, and becoming the champion twice (2009 and 2010). Dadashi was stabbed and killed on 16 July 2011, 11:45 p.m in a fight which started as an argument with another driver and his passengers. On 17 July 2011, two of the killers were arrested by the police in the city of Karaj. The third and main murderer was arrested the next day while trying to escape the city. Thousands of people attended Dadashi's burial ceremony. He was buried in Imamzadeh Mohammad in Karaj on 18 July 2011.
