Far Western University is a university in Nepal, located in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. It was established in August 2010 (2067 BS) by the Act of the Constituent Assembly by the Government of Nepal. The prime minister of Nepal (ISO 15919, ISO: ) is the head of government of Nepal. Sudurpashchim Province () is one of the seven Provinces of Nepal, provinces established by the Constitution of Nepal, new constitution of Nepal which was adopted on 20 September 2015. Kanchanpur District
Kanchanpur District ( ), a part of Sudurpashchim Province in the Terai plain, is one of seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Bhimdatta as its district headquarters, covers an area of and had a population of 134,868 in 2001 and 171,304 in 2011. It is located in south-western of Nepal. Kailali Multiple Campus () is one of the constituent campuses of Far-western University located in Dhangadi of western Nepal. The campus was established in 1980 as a constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University, however the affiliation was changed in 2021 based on government decision. The campus is recognized by University Grants Commission since . History and Development Before 2037 BS (1980 AD), there was no institution of higher education in the Kailali district. The absence of educational opportunities after the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination created an urgent social demand for a local campus.
