Fanlu
Fanlu Township () is a rural township in Chiayi County, Taiwan. History After the World War II in October 1945, the township became part of Tainan County. After readjustment in October 1950, the township became part of Chiayi County. In 1951, the township governs 11 villages and 112 neighborhoods. Administrative divisions Jiangxi, Neiweng, Xinfu, Xiakeng, Panlu, Minhe, Chukou, Dahu, Gongtian, Gongxing and Caoshan Village. Geography It has a population total of 11,029 and an area of 117.5269 km2. Dijiu Suspension Bridge
The Dijiu Suspension Bridge () is a pedestrian suspension bridge in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. It crosses the Bazhang River. History The bridge was constructed in 1937. Chukou Nature Center
The Chukou Nature Center () is a nature center in Xinfu Village, Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. History The site of the center was originally the sugar farm of Taiwan Sugar Corporation. It was then later turned into Chukou Nature Center. In 2004, the Chiayi Forest District Office established the Tree Bank and Forest Ecological Park at the center. Ecology The center is the center providing trees from various rare species. It also features drift-wood storage, eco-waterways and greenhouses. Renyitan Dam
The Renyitan Dam () is a dam in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. History The dam was initially constructed in April 1980 on Renyi Lake and was opened in October 1987. Technical specifications The water intake for the reservoir inside the dam comes from Bazhang River. The reservoir has a full capacity of 29,110,000 m3 and an effective capacity of 27,310,000 m3. The reservoir maximum surface area is 2.32 km2 with a maximum depth of 105 m. Transportation The dam is accessible east from Chiayi Station of Taiwan Railways. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. Chiayi County
Chiayi County (Mandarin pinyin: ''jiā yì xiàn''; Hokkien POJ: ''Ka-gī-koān'') is a county in southwestern Taiwan surrounding but not including Chiayi City. It is the sixth largest county in Taiwan. Name The former Chinese placename was Tsu-lo-san (), a representation of the original Formosan-language name ''Tirosen''. A shortened version, Tsulo, was then used to name Tsulo County, which originally covered the underdeveloped northern two-thirds of the island. In 1704, the county seat was moved to Tsulosan, the site of modern-day Chiayi City. Following the 1723 Zhu Yigui rebellion, the county was reduced in size. Tainan County
Tainan County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi). The county is subdivide into districts (), which is reformed from Japanese districts (). The districts are divided into townships. On 16 August 1950, another division reform was implemented. The northern part of the county was separated and established Chiayi County and Yunlin County.
