Fanfulla Della Domenica
Luigi Visconti, better known by his stage name Fanfulla, (26 February 1913 – 5 January 1971) was an Italian actor and comedian. Life and career Born in Rome, Visconti debuted at very young age on stage alongside his mother, the actress Mercedes Menolesi (best known as "Diavolina"). From the mid-forties to the late fifties, he adopted the stage name Fanfulla and was a popular comedian of cabaret and avanspettacolo shows, acclaimed for his brilliant style, referred to as "The King of Avanspettacolo" and even paired with Ettore Petrolini. His career was relaunched by Federico Fellini, who chose him for the role of Vernacchio in ''Fellini Satyricon'', a role that gave Fanfulla a Nastro d'Argento for best supporting actor. In 1970, Fellini gave him a main role in ''The Clowns''. In 1971, Fanfulla died from a heart attack in a hotel in Bologna, while he was on tour with his avanspettacolo company. ''The Joy of Living'' (, ) is a 1961 Italian-French comedy film directed by René Clément. It was entered into the 1961 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The story is set in Rome, in the year 1921. Ulisse (Alain Delon) enrolls in the Italian Fascist party because he cannot find any employment. The first task entrusted to him by the party leads Ulysses to the printer Fossati, where he's hired as an apprentice. ''The Thief of Baghdad'' () is a 1961 film directed by Arthur Lubin and starring Steve Reeves. Plot In the time of the Arabian Nights, the city of Baghdad was ruled by Sultan Ali Bajazeth but actually controlled by the scheming Grand Vizier Ghamal. The poor of Baghdad are aided by Karim, the Thief of Baghdad. Prince Osman is due to arrive at the palace to ask for the hand of Sultan Ali's daughter Amina in marriage. Karim sneaks into the palace, waylays Osman, and impersonates the prince, using the opportunity to steal jewels from all of the assembled courtiers. When this is discovered, Karim hides in Princess Amina's quarters.
