''Familial'' is the debut solo studio album by the English musician Philip Selway, best known as the drummer of the rock band Radiohead. It was released on 30 August 2010 in the United Kingdom and received mainly positive reviews. Music ''Familial'' contains ten tracks written by Selway, with contributions from various musicians. Selway performed acoustic guitar and vocals; ''Pitchfork'' described the album as a collection of "hushed folk songs" in the tradition of the English singer-songwriter Nick Drake. Phil Selway
Philip James Selway (born 23 May 1967) is an English musician and the drummer of the rock band Radiohead. He combines rock drumming with electronic percussion. Selway was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Radiohead in 2019. In the 2000s, with musicians including the Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien, Selway toured and recorded with the 7 Worlds Collide project. In 2010, he released his debut solo album, ''Familial (album), Familial'', comprising folk music. It was followed by ''Weatherhouse (album), Weatherhouse'' in 2014 and ''Strange Dance'' in 2023. Metacritic is an American website that aggregates reviews of films, television shows, music albums, video games, and formerly books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted average). Pat Sansone
Patrick Anthony Sansone is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, musician, and music producer. He is a member of Wilco, The Autumn Defense, and Mellotron Variations and has worked with Jonathan Wilson, Andrew Bird, Jamie Lidell, and others. Early life Patrick Anthony Sansone was born in Meridian, Mississippi. He grew up in a musical family and began working in a recording studio at the age of 14. His father ran a concert venue in Meridian, MS. As a teenager, he was influenced by The Beatles, The Byrds, The Who, and especially Big Star among others. Glenn Kotche
Glenn Kotche (born December 31, 1970 in Roselle, Illinois, United States) is an American drummer and composer, best known for his involvement in the band Wilco. He was named the 40th greatest drummer of all time by Gigwise in 2008. Prior to working with Wilco, Kotche released a four-track album entitled ''Introducing''. In 2003, he released a second solo album titled ''Next'', featuring solo drum improvisations using homemade percussion installations. Sebastian Steinberg (born February 20, 1959) is an American double bass, bass player, best known for his work in the band Soul Coughing. Biography Steinberg played with Soul Coughing throughout the band's entire history, from 1992 to 2000. In 2001, Steinberg performed on stage with Neil Finn and Tim Finn, Eddie Vedder, Johnny Marr, Ed O'Brien, Phil Selway and others in a series of concerts recorded on a DVD titled "7 Worlds Collide". Nick Drake
Nicholas Rodney Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974) was an English singer-songwriter and musician. An accomplished acoustic guitarist, Drake signed to Island Records at the age of twenty while still a student at the University of Cambridge. His debut album, ''Five Leaves Left'', was released in 1969, and was followed by two more albums, '' Bryter Layter'' (1971) and '' Pink Moon'' (1972). While Drake did not reach a wide audience during his brief lifetime, his music found critical acclaim and he gradually received wider recognition following his death. Drake suffered from depression and was reluctant to perform in front of live audiences. Upon completion of ''Pink Moon'', he withdrew from both performance and recording, retreating to his parents' home in rural Warwickshire.
