False Heads
False Heads are an English, London-based three piece rock/punk band, consisting of Luke Griffiths (vocals/guitar), Jake Elliott (bass) and Barney Nash (drums/vocals). History Having met at Coopers' Company and Coborn School in Upminster, the three members reconvened after university to make music together in late 2015. While all members had collaborated creatively with each other in the past and Griffiths had previously released music under the title, this marked the first time they began to perform together as False Heads. While playing at the Black Heart in Camden in November 2015, False Heads caught the attention of former Ramones manager Danny Fields. Fields began to take an interest in and to mentor the band, even declaring that they were "the future of Rock and Roll". After releasing a number of singles in 2016 and playing venues including the Roundhouse in July 2016 for the 40th anniversary of the Ramones’ performance there, False Heads released their debut EP ''Gu ... Danny Fields
Danny Fields (born Daniel Feinberg; November 13, 1939) is an American music manager, publicist, journalist, and author. As a music industry executive from the 1960s to the 1980s, he was one of the most influential figures in the history of punk rock. He signed and managed Iggy and the Stooges, signed the MC5 and managed the Ramones, and worked in various roles with Jim Morrison, the Velvet Underground and the Modern Lovers. In 2014 ''The New York Times'' said, "You could make a convincing case that without Danny Fields, punk rock would not have happened." Early life Fields was born to a Jewish family and grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959, he attended Harvard Law School, but left during his first year. Reading Festival
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading, Berkshire, Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Rock for People (RfP) is a large open-air summer multi-genre festival in the Czech Republic. The festival began in 1995 in the town of Český Brod. In 2007, it was moved to an unused airport in Hradec Králové. Joshua Michael Homme ( ; born May 17, 1973) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is best known as the founder and only continuous member of the rock band Queens of the Stone Age, which he formed in 1996. Band of Skulls are an English rock band from Southampton, fronted by Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals). Emma Richardson ( bass, vocals; 2002–2021) and Matt Hayward (drums; 2002–2016) were previously members. November 2015 Paris Attacks
A series of coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks took place on Friday, 13 November 2015 in Paris, France, and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at 21:16, three suicide bombers struck outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during an international football match, after failing to gain entry to the stadium. Another group of attackers then fired on crowded cafés and restaurants in Paris, with one of them also detonating an explosive, killing himself in the process. A third group carried out another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert attended by 1,500 people in the Bataclan theatre, leading to a stand-off with police. The Libertines are an English Rock music, rock band, formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât (vocals/guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/guitar). Y Not Festival
The Y Not Festival is an annual music festival held in Pikehall, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. It began in 2005 as a house party organized by Ralph Broadbent. In its first year, it was named The Big Gin Festival (a play on its location near Biggin in the Peak District), and the stage used in the festival has retained its name as The Big Gin Stage. The following year, it was renamed Y Not Festival and was opened to the public. In 2007, the festival relocated to its current site at Pikehall in Derbyshire. The event won awards and accolades at the UK Festival Awards, such as Best Grassroots Event and Best Toilets in 2011 and Best Small Festival in 2012.
