False Advertising (band)
False Advertising are a British three-piece alternative rock group from Manchester and Oxford, England. Biography False Advertising was formed by Jen Hingley and Chris Warr in 2013, with Josh Sellers completing the lineup in 2014. Upon deciding that between them they could produce and release their own music, they set about writing and self recording their debut album. The band released their first single ‘Dozer’ and self-titled album ''False Advertising'' in 2015, in June 2016 they released a 7" single on Too Pure Singles Club. The band are noted for their live instrument swapping. The band received coverage by Total Guitar, The Skinny, DIY (magazine), NME, The Independent, Drowned In Sound and MusicRadar, where Jen was cited #8 in Music Radar's ‘Best New Guitarists in the world right now’ poll. Truck Festival
Truck Festival is an annual independent music festival in Oxfordshire, England. Truck Festival started in 1998, founded by the Bennett family (including the brothers Robin and Joe of the band Goldrush). The Bennett family decided that mainstream festivals such as Glastonbury had become too commercial and predictable. Truck Festival is held in July at Hill Farm in Steventon, Oxfordshire, which lies between Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage. The festival also gave birth to the Truck Records label in 1999. The main stage was originally constructed from three large flatbed trucks, giving rise to a common misperception is that this is where the name of the festival comes from. The Inspiral Carpets
Inspiral Carpets are an English rock band, part of the late-1980s/early-1990s Madchester movement. Formed in Oldham in 1983, the band's most successful lineup featured frontman Tom Hingley, drummer Craig Gill, guitarist Graham Lambert, bassist Martyn Walsh, and keyboardist Clint Boon. Going by "The Furs", Lambert formed line-ups loosely with other various past band members from 1980 to 1983 until he and singer Stephen Holt met at The Moor End indie disco in Oldham in 1983. Holt sang on the first two independent singles. Zandari Festa
Zandari Festa is a three-day music festival and showcase held in various live music venues and other locations in the area around Hongik University in Seoul. Every year, it offers around 100 music acts from Korea and around the world, as well as music industry delegates representing festivals and labels. In cooperation with foreign embassies, each year it offers national showcases. There are also conference events, secret shows, and various other networking events throughout the festival. Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician who is the co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the Cure, a post-punk rock band formed in 1976. His guitar-playing style, singing voice, and fashion sense, often sporting a pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, unkempt wiry black hair, and all-black clothes, were highly influential on the goth subculture that rose to prominence in the 1980s. Meltdown is an annual festival held in London, featuring a mix of music, art, performance and film. Meltdown is held in June at Southbank Centre, the arts complex covering and including the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Hayward. Liverpool Sound City is an annual music festival and industry conference held in Liverpool, England. It was founded in 2008 by Dave Pichilingi.
