Falamansa
Falamansa is a Brazilian forró band created in 1998 in São Paulo. With the success of forró on the nights of the city of São Paulo, a movement emerged in the city to meet the demand of the nightclubs and the adolescent public, who identified immediately with the dance and the contagious rhythm of the style. The members: Josivaldo, Dezinho, Tato, Alemão, and Valdir performed the songs of Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson do Pandeiro, mixing the so-called "forró universitário" or "forró pé-de-serra" with the roots of Northeastern music. By 2001, the group had more than 1 million copies sold in Brazil. History Falamansa's history begins in 1998, the last day of registration for the 3rd Mackenzie Music Festival. Deckdisc
Deckdisc is a Brazilian record company that was founded in 1998. History The Deckdisc officially began his career as a record label in 1998, with distribution from Universal Music. The first success was the series "O Som do Barzinho", which reached more than two million copies sold in its five volumes. It was founded by João Augusto, a journalist and producer who was A&R at PolyGram and A&R, VP of EMI. At EMI, João Augusto worked with Mamonas Assassinas, Marisa Monte, Legião Urbana, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Exaltasamba and many others. The triangle, or musical triangle, is a musical instrument in the percussion family, classified as an idiophone in the Hornbostel-Sachs classification system. Triangles are made from a variety of metals including aluminum, beryllium copper, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. The metal is bent into a triangular shape with one open end. The instrument is usually held by a loop of some form of thread or wire at the top curve to enable the triangle to vibrate, and it is struck with a metal rod called a "beater". The triangle theoretically has indefinite pitch, and produces a plurality of overtones when struck with an appropriate beater. Zabumba
A zabumba () is a type of bass drum used in Brazilian music. The player wears the drum while standing up and uses both hands while playing. The zabumba generally ranges in diameter from 16 to 22 inches, and is 5 to 8 inches tall. The shell is made of wood and may utilize either skin or plastic drum heads and is usually tensioned via metal lugs and tension rods. The top head is usually muted with tape or cloth strip(s) and struck with a cloth-covered mallet (held in the right hand) to produce a low fundamental note with minimal overtones. The bottom head is tuned tighter and is struck with a thin, twig-like stick called a '' bacalhau'' which is held in the left hand to produce a high fundamental with a sharp attack and numerous overtones.
