''Faklen'' ( en, The Torch) was a Danish language intellectual magazine, debating humanism, contemporary Danish politics, education, and philosophical themes. The magazine was based in Copenhagen, Denmark. History The magazine was founded in 1996 by editor-in-chief Rune Engelbreth Larsen and a group of students from Danish universities in close cooperation with Danish author and philosopher Erwin Neutzsky-Wulff. Neutzsky-Wulff provided much of the material from the founding until his break with the magazine in 1999. the magazine was published by the students of the universities of Aarhus and Copenhagen. It covered news on cultural trends and social comment in Denmark. List Of Magazines In Denmark
In Denmark there are various magazines with different frequency types, including weekly magazines, monthly magazines and quarterly magazines. As in other Nordic countries, the national consumer organizations publish their magazines in Denmark. In 2007, there were nearly 68 consumer magazines in the country which were mostly owned by Danish media groups. Of them 52 were monthly/quarterly whereas 16 were weekly. These magazines were grouped into four main categories: general-interest magazines, opinion magazines, TV and radio guides, and professional and scientific magazines. Erwin Neutzsky-Wulff
Erwin Neutzsky-Wulff (born 24 November 1949) is a Danish author and philosopher who has published within the genres of science fiction, science, horror, prose and non-fiction. Life Neutzsky-Wulff is the son of Aage Neutzsky-Wulff (1891–1967). His half-sister Vita Andersen is known for her poetry and fiction. Neutzsky-Wulff attended courses in philosophy at the University of Copenhagen, but broke off his studies after his first year. Having lived in Copenhagen all of his life, he moved into an abandoned school in Vinstrup north of Randers with his wife, where he presently spends his time expanding his authorship. He occasionally holds courses on themes drawn from extensive interests. Works Neutzsky-Wulff has written in both fiction and non-fiction, on subjects as diverse as history, philosophy, cognition, religion, the occult, psychology and horror fiction. Solitary confinement is a form of imprisonment in which the inmate lives in a single cell with little or no meaningful contact with other people. A prison may enforce stricter measures to control contraband on a solitary prisoner and use additional security equipment in comparison to the general population. Solitary confinement is a punitive tool within the prison system to discipline or separate disruptive prison inmates who are security risks to other inmates, the prison staff, or the prison itself. However, solitary confinement is also used to protect inmates whose safety is threatened by other inmates by separating them from the general population.
