Fakhruddin Ahmed (secretary)
Fakhruddin Ahmed was a Bangladesh diplomat and former Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh. Early life Ahmed was born in 1931. He had a M. A. from the University of Dhaka. He had also studied at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. Career Ahmed joined the Pakistan Foreign Service in 1954. Ahmed was the Director (Personnel) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. Ahmed returned to Bangladesh in 1973 through Afghanistan after Bangladesh achieved Independence from Pakistan in 1971 and started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh. From October 1973 to November 1975, Ahmed served as the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh. After the Assassination of President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Ahmed faced difficulties with the new president, Khandokar Moshtaque Ahmed, and was thus made the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Italy. The Foreign Secretary is the most senior diplomat and governmental, non-political official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Government of Bangladesh. Shahabuddin Ahmed
Shahabuddin Ahmed (1 February 1930 – 19 March 2022) served as the President of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2001, and the Chief Justice of Bangladesh from 1990 to 1995. He previously served as the acting president during 1990–91 when Hussain Muhammad Ershad resigned from the post. He headed a caretaker government and held a general election in February 1991. Early life and education Ahmed was born on 1 February 1930 in Pamal village in Kendua, Netrokona. His father Talukdar Resat Ahmed Bhuiyan was a philanthropist. After passing the matriculation and intermediate examinations he took admission into the University of Dhaka in 1948, obtained a bachelor's degree in economics in 1951 and a master's in international relations in 1952 as a resident student of Fazlul Haq Hall.
