USS ''Fairview'' (EPCE(R)-850) was a United States Navy ''PCE(R)-848''-class Patrol Craft Escort (Rescue), in commission from April 1944 to May 1968. It was named after Fairview, New Jersey. in Bergen county The ship was present at the surrender of Japan in Tokyo Bay at the end of World War II. Role The ''PCER-848'' class was an armed rescue ship built on the hull of the PCE (Patrol Craft Escort) by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company in Chicago, Illinois. The ships were to serve three missions: damage control / firefighting; casualty treatment / evacuation; and patrol / guardship. Each ship's hospital contained 65 beds, with a surgical suite, and X-ray facilities. The medical department consisted of a staff of 11 doctors and hospital corpsmen. Fairview Wine and Cheese farm is a South African producer of wines and cheeses based in the Paarl region of the Western Cape province. It is owned and run by Charles Back, who also owns The Goats do Roam Wine Company and The Spice Route Winery. Location The Fairview farm is on the south western slopes of the Paarl mountain range, approximately 60 km from Cape Town. The farm comprises 320 hectares, of which 120 hectares are planted to vineyard. The farm ranges in altitude from 400m above sea level on the slopes of the mountain to 180m on the valley floor. Fair View School
The Fair View School is a historic school building at 2367 Mill Creek Road in Pope County, Arkansas, 4.5 miles northwest of Russellville, Arkansas. It is a single-story T-shaped fieldstone structure, with a gabled roof and concrete foundation. The eaves of the roof have exposed rafter ends in the Craftsman style. The projecting cross-gable section, which forms the short leg of the T, houses the main entrance in a round-arch recess. The school was built in 1938 with funding support from the Works Progress Administration, and was used as a school until 1960. It was also an important community resource, playing host to social events and community meetings. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. The district includes seven contributing buildings and one contributing site. The main house was most likely built in the 1860s. It is a two-story, square brick dwelling with a rectangular wing in a transitional Federal-Greek Revival style. It has a hipped roof, capped by a cupola and a one-story portico with painted wooden Ionic order columns. Fairview is an historic home located near Fredericksburg, Virginia at 2020 Whitelake Drive. It is the largest of the historic homes in Spotsylvania County. The house was built in 1837 by Samuel Alsop, Jr. (1776-1859). Alsop was an architect and builder who designed a number of buildings in Spotsylvania including the Old Berea Church and Kenmore Woods (1829), which he built for his daughter.
