Fagersta Municipality
Fagersta Municipality () is a municipality in Västmanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Fagersta. The ''City of Fagersta'' (instituted in 1944) was in 1967 merged with Västervåla parish (which had been part of Surahammar Municipality since 1963). In 1971 it was transformed into a municipality of unitary type. Localities The municipal seat, Fagersta, is the only locality within the municipality with more than 200 inhabitants. Another locality of note is Ängelsberg, a village located on Åmänningen Lake. Politics of Fagersta Fagersta is historically a left wing stronghold, with mostly a social democratic majority running the town, a trend only broken with a further left majority between 1998 and 2014. However, a rapid shift saw the right-leaning coalition narrowly win the 2022 Swedish general election vote in the municipality. Choibalsan (city)
Choibalsan ( Mongolian: ) is the fourth-largest city in Mongolia after Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan, and Erdenet. The name of the city was Bayan Tümen () until 1941, when it was renamed after the communist leader Khorloogiin Choibalsan in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Mongolian Revolution of 1921. The Hives
The Hives are a Swedish garage rock band formed in Fagersta in 1993. After gaining success in Sweden throughout the 1990s, they rose to worldwide prominence in the early 2000s during the garage rock revival. Tomas Sandström
Tomas Sandström (born September 4, 1964) is a Finnish-born Swedish former professional ice hockey right winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1984 to 1999. Born in Finland, Sandström grew up in Fagersta, Sweden. A skilled power forward, he was effective when healthy but his career was marred by injuries due to his physical style of play. He was a member of the 1997 Stanley Cup winning Detroit Red Wings team, and assisted on Darren McCarty's game-winning goal in the deciding Game 4. Ulf Bo Samuelsson (born March 26, 1964) is a Swedish-American former professional ice hockey defenceman who formerly served as assistant coach of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. Paul Lennart Hellsing (5 June 1919 – 25 November 2015) was a Swedish writer and translator. For his lasting contribution as a children's writer, Hellsing was a finalist in 2010 for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award. Anitra Steen
Anitra Linnéa Steen (; on 13 May 1949) is a Swedish politician, civil servant and the wife of former Prime Minister Göran Persson. Steen held various governmental roles since 1989: state secretary for Persson-led Ministry of Education and then for the Ministry of Finance, as well as director-general of the Council for Higher Education and the Tax Agency. Engelsberg Ironworks
Engelsberg Ironworks () is an ironworks in '' Ängelsberg'', a village in Fagersta Municipality in Västmanland County, Sweden. It was built in 1681 by Per Larsson Gyllenhöök (1645–1706) and developed into one of the world's most modern ironworks in the period 1700–1800.
