Fafa Sanyang is a Gambian politician and former civil servant who served as Minister of Energy and Petroleum in President Adama Barrow's cabinet from 2017 until a reshuffle in 2022. Early life and education Sanyang was born in Kwinella and studied a bachelor's degree in geology at the University of Sierra Leone in 1989. He went on to obtain a master's degree in marine management from Dalhousie University, Canada, in 1997 and a further master's degree in engineering geology from Leeds University in the United Kingdom. Adama Barrow (, born 15 February 1965) is a The Gambia, Gambian politician and real estate developer who has served as President of The Gambia since 2017. Born in Mankamang Kunda, a village in Jimara district, he attended Crab Island Secondary School and the Muslim Senior Secondary School, Muslim High School, the latter on a scholarship.
