Antun Fabris
Antun Fabris ( sr-Cyrl, Антун Фабрис; April 17, 1864 – October 14, 1904), was a journalist, essayist, publisher and politician from Dubrovnik who was one of the leaders of the Serb-Catholic movement in Dubrovnik. Biography The ancestors of Antun Fabris came to the mainland from the island of Korčula. After finishing basic studies in Dubrovnik he went on to Vienna, where he graduated in Slavic studies from the university there in 1889. He was a teacher first in Split and then Zadar. In 1895 he became the owner, publisher and editor-in-chief of the prominent ''Dubrovnik'' newspaper. In 1902 he formed his own paper in Dubrovnik, the ''Srđ'' ("Срђ"), with his wife, and professor Luko Zore, the editor-in-chief, and the support of other Catholic Serbs. It was a science and culture journal for Serb intellectuals in Dalmatia, published twice a month until 1908 in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts, with cooperation of many intellectuals across Dalmatia and several writers ...

Emilio De Fabris
Emilio De Fabris (28 October 1808 – 3 June 1883) was an Italian architect best known for his design of the west facade of Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence. De Fabris was born in Florence, Italy. He initially studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, then traveled to Rome, where he met the archeologist Antonio Nibby and to Venice where he met the historian and art-critic Pietro Selvatico. Enrico Fabris
Enrico Fabris (born 5 October 1981) is an Italian former long track speed skater who has won three World Cup races and became the first European Allround Champion from Italy when he won the 2006 European Championships one month before the Winter Olympics in Turin. In 2007 he won also the silver medal and in 2008 the bronze medal. Fabris is also a six-time Italian Allround Champion. Career At the 2006 Olympics he won a bronze medal in the men's 5,000 m event, Italy's first-ever Olympic medal in speed skating. Five days later, he was in the winning team on the team pursuit event, to claim Italy's first Olympic speed skating gold. With a time of one minute, 45.97 seconds in the 1,500 m race, Fabris claimed his third medal and defeated American favourites Shani Davis and Chad Hedrick to become the first non-American to win an individual men's event through the first four races of the Turin Winter Games. Biography Early life Eurosia Fabris was born to farmers Luigi and Maria Fabris on 27 September 1866, in Quinto Vicentino, a small, agricultural area near the Italian town of Vicenza. In 1870, at the age of four, she and her family moved to the nearby village of Marola, also in the Province of Vicenza, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was able to attend school for only two years, between 1872 and 1874, because she needed to help her parents with farm work and domestic chores. Pietro Fabris
Pietro Fabris (active 1740 – 1792) was a painter of Italian descent, active in England and Naples. Pietro is best known for work he completed for the dilettante geologist, the diplomat Sir William Hamilton, which included a number of engravings based on his paintings that depicted contemporary volcanic activity collected in two books, ''Observations on Mount Vesuvius, Mount Etna, &c.'' (London, 1774) and ''Campi Phlegraei: Observations on the Volcanoes of the Two Sicilies'' (Naples, 1776). He also painted some concert parties sponsored by Hamilton, including one that included a young Mozart at the harpsichord. In other works he produced for sale, he painted ''Bamboccianti'' scenes, genre paintings of local folk in native garb at work or play. The biography of Fabris is poorly documented.

Salvator Fabris
Salvator Fabris (1544-1618) was an Italian fencing master from Padua. During his life he taught in various European countries, most notably in Denmark where he was the fencing instructor of King Christian IV. It was during his time in Copenhagen that he published his treatise on rapier fencing, ''Lo Schermo, overo Scienza d’Arme'', in 1606. The treatise became a fencing bestseller around Europe, and was reprinted until 1713 and translated into several languages, notably into German, and again in 2005, into English. His treatise, first published by Henrico Waltkirch, is also regarded as one of the finest examples of baroque printing, with its 191 copperplate engravings by Jan van Haelbeck, Francesco Valeggio and possibly other artists. This book is also important to bibliophiles because it is the first Danish book to feature copperplate engravings.
