Fabián Marcelo Hormazábal Berríos (born 26 April 1996) is a Chilean footballer who currently plays as a winger for Primera División club Universidad de Chile and the Chile national team. Club career Youth career Hormazábal started his career at Primera División de Chile club O'Higgins. He progressed from the under categories club all the way to the senior team. O'Higgins For the 2014–15 season, Hormazábal was promoted for the first team squad of the club. He played 3 matches for 2014–15 Copa Chile and scored a goal against Santiago Wanderers. Universidad de Chile For the 2024 season, he signed with Universidad de Chile. The 2024 Copa Chile (officially known as Copa Chile Coca-Cola Sin Azúcar 2024 due to its sponsorship), was the 44th edition of the Copa Chile, the country's national football cup tournament. The tournament began on 27 April and ended with the final match on 20 November 2024. Universidad de Chile won their sixth title in this competition, and first since 2015, by defeating Ñublense 1–0 in the final match. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División.
