FSV Hoyerswerda
Hoyerswerdaer FC is an association football club from Hoyerswerda, Saxony, Germany. The club was founded on 15 January 1956 in East Germany. Under the name BSG Aktivist Schwarze Pumpe, it reached as high as the DDR-Liga, the second tier in East Germany, where it played in the ultimate (1990–91) season of the DDR-Liga. Following the reunification of Germany, the club changed its name to FSV Hoyerswerda and later FC Lausitz Hoyerswerda. The club colours were yellow and black. It incorporated the club Hoyerswerdaer SV 1919 in 2016, changing its name to Hoyerswerdaer FC. Hoyerswerda
Hoyerswerda () or Wojerecy () is a major district town in the district of Bautzen in the German state of Saxony. It is located in the Sorbian settlement area of Upper Lusatia, in which the Upper Sorbian language is spoken in addition to German. Hoyerswerda is divided into the Old Town and the New Town, surrounded by village areas. The Old Town is the historical centre with many old houses and sight-seeing attractions, the New Town is more modern and varicoloured. Prior to the renovation of the town, prefabricated apartment blocks predominated in this area. The town has many lakes, marshes and waterways in its surrounding area, because of its situation in Lusatia. This brings many tourists to spend their holidays there. It is attractive for cyclists and inline skaters who use recently created paths meandering among the lakes. The DDR-Liga (English: GDR League or ''East German League'') was, prior to German reunification in 1990, the second level of football competition in the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik or German Democratic Republic, commonly East Germany), being roughly equivalent to the 2. Bundesliga in West Germany. Overview 1950-1955 The league was established with two divisions of ten teams each in 1950 as the level of play below the DDR-Oberliga, and as such was the second tier of the East German football league system. Hanns Leske (born 1950 in Berlin) is a German sports historian, political scientist and former Berlin local politician. Life Hanns Leske served from 1979 to 1999 within the Social Democratic Party of Germany as a member of the district council of Schöneberg and was group managing director and building policy spokesman. After leaving the party in 1999, Leske briefly appeared as Charité press spokesman between 2004 and 2005, but subsequently devoted himself exclusively to various publications on East German football ( de).
