FSFO
FSFO (Fo Sostyn, Fo Ordaag ("under England, under the thumb"), sometimes interpreted as "Financial Sector (or Services) Fuck Off") was a Manx nationalist group on the Isle of Man in the 1970s and 1980s, known for graffiti campaigns and arson attacks against outsiders and tax haven seekers of the financial sector on the island. Among the later notable individuals involved in FSFO was Phil Gawne, who later become Minister of Agriculture. Gawne was jailed for 16 months in the 1970s for attacks on homes being built for English arrivals to the island. In 1991, FSFO issued a press release through the Manx nationalist paper '' Yn Pabyr Seyr'': ''The 31st of March saw the first anniversary of the F.S.F.O. campaigners' release from prison custody and although the destruction of the Manks way of life has apparently slowed down this past year, it is still continuing at an unacceptable and unnecessary rate. Irree Magh ( gv, "Rebellion" or "Insurrection") was a militant Manx nationalist group. In 1975 it distributed leaflets calling for the expulsion of "come-overs" (Manx term for immigrants) and Manx Independence. The group called for "open rebellion in order to preserve our nation, heritage and country (or what's left of it)". Fo Halloo
Fo Halloo ( gv, "Underground") was a militant Manx nationalist group active on the Isle of Man in the 1970s. The group conducted Manx graffiti and poster campaigns, published and distributed newsletters, and was also accused of conducting a number of arson attacks against the homes of English, non-Manx residents. An implication that the Celtic League was involved in the "Manx underground" activities was published by '' The Guardian'' in 1976; a refutation from the League chairman was eventually published a month later after ongoing efforts by the League. The Manx (; gv, ny Manninee) are an ethnic group originating on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea in northern Europe. Their native culture has significant Norse-Gaelic, Celtic, and English influences. The Manx language descends from Middle Irish. Phil Gawne
Philip Anderson Gawne (born 19 February 1965), better known as Phil Gawne, is a former Member of the House of Keys for Rushen, a constituency in the Isle of Man. He also served in a number of ministerial posts on the island and is therefore a former member of the Council of Ministers. Personal life Gawne was born in Douglas to C. R. Gawne CP and E. Gawne (née Anderson). He attended his local primary school in Arbory, before joining Castle Rushen High School for his secondary education. Separatism is the advocacy of cultural, ethnic, tribal, religious, racial, governmental or gender separation from the larger group.
