FSCC Early Cash
The FSCC Early Cash was a bonspiel, or curling tournament, that took place at the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine, Minnesota, Blaine, Minnesota. The tournament was held in a round robin format. The tournament started in 2013 as part of the World Curling Tour and the Great Lakes Curling Tour. In 2014, the September WCT event in Blaine, Minnesota was called the Twin Cities Open and was open to both genders. The event was discontinued after that. Bonspiel
A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend. Until the 20th century most bonspiels were held outdoors, on a frozen freshwater loch. Today almost all bonspiels are held indoors on specially prepared artificial ice. While bonspiels originated in Scotland, the most notable competitive curling tournament in the world nowadays is the Canadian Men's Curling Championship, The Brier. Cory Christensen
Cory Thiesse ( Christensen; born December 1, 1994) is an American curler from Duluth, Minnesota. She currently plays third on Team Tabitha Peterson. She is a three-time defending U.S. women's champion, winning titles in 2021, 2023 and 2024. Thiesse was one of the top junior women's curlers in the United States, playing in six national junior championships and winning four of them. She was the alternate on Nina Roth's 2018 United States Olympic team. Thiesse is a former world mixed doubles champion, winning the title in alongside partner Korey Dropkin. She also won a bronze medal at the event in with partner John Shuster. Curling In Minnesota
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area that is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The goal is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once.
