Fraser, Edmonton
Fraser is a residential neighbourhood in northeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is named after John Fraser, an original homesteader in the area and one of the first trustees of the Belmont School. The neighbourhood is bounded by the North Saskatchewan River and 6 Street to the east, as well as on the south by 144 Avenue. According to the 2001 federal census, three out of every five (62.6%) residences were constructed during the 1980s. One in five (19.4%) predate the 1980s with most of these being built during the 1970s. The remaining one in five (18.0%) were built during the 1990s. The most common type of residence, according to the 2005 municipal census, is the single-family detached home, single-family dwelling. Fraser's Hill
Fraser's Hill (Malay language, Malay: ) is a hill resort in Raub District, Pahang, Malaysia, on the Pahangese and Selangor, Selangorean sections of the Titiwangsa Mountains. It is about north of Kuala Lumpur. In 1890, Louis James Fraser established the area as a tin mining community known as Pamah Lebar when he discovered rich tin deposits and opened a tin mining facility. Mining activity there was short-lived, as the tin ore was depleted in 1913. This led many miners and farmers to abandon the area. Fraser reportedly disappeared in 1910, but research in 2019 concluded that he retired from his position and returned to Great Britain in 1910. He died in 1916 while travelling in Austria-Hungary. An attempt by J. Ferguson-Davie to locate Fraser in the area failed. While he searched for Fraser, Ferguson-Davie recognised the area's potential as a suitable location to set up a hill station. Fraser Wilkins
Fraser Wilkins (August 30, 1908 – January 21, 1989) was appointed the first United States ambassador to Cyprus after the country gained independence from the UK. Personal life Fraser Wilkins was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Harry F. Wilkins and his wife. He graduated from Yale University. He married Anne Bryan, and they had one son, Fraser Bryan Wilkins. Career Wilkins entered the Foreign Service in 1940. He served in various positions as a US Foreign Service Officer. He was director of the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs in the Department of State from 1955–1957, and during these years, he was stationed in Iraq, Morocco, India, and Iran. He then served as a minister-counselor in the US embassy in Tehran, Iran, from 1957–1960. Wilkins was appointed the first ambassador to Cyprus in 1960. He served in this position until 1964. William Fraser Anning (born 14 October 1949) is an Australian racist and former politician who was a senator for Queensland from November 2017 to June 2019. Anning is known for holding far-right, nativist, and anti-Muslim views, and has been criticised for his use of the Nazi euphemism for the Holocaust, when he proposed a plebiscite to be the "Final Solution" to "the immigration problem" in his maiden speech.
