FK Viktoria Žižkov
FK Viktoria Žižkov is a Czech professional football club from the district of Žižkov in Prague. The club competes in the Czech National Football League, the second tier of football in the country. It won the Czechoslovak First League title in the 1927–28 season, and has also won two editions of the Czech Cup. History Early years The team was founded by students in 1903 in the town of Žižkov (since 1922 part of Prague). At that time the students chose red and white striped shirts as their colours in honour of the colours of the Flag of Bohemia. Those same colours remain today. Viktoria's main successes fall into the period between the world wars — until 1948 it was the third most successful Czechoslovak club, winning the Czechoslovak championship in 1928 and finishing as runners-up in 1929. FK Viktoria Stadion
The FK Viktoria Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Viktoria Žižkov. The stadium holds 3,327 people, all seated. History In 1965 and 1966, the stadium held motorcycle speedway and was used by the Victoria Speedway Club Praha. In 2007, the football club opened a shop at the stadium for the sale of club merchandise. Formerly a majority owner of the stadium, in 2010 Viktoria Žižkov's ownership stake was reduced to one third. A new playing surface was laid in 2011 after the club was promoted to the Czech First League, one of the conditions of the club's acceptance into the league. 2000–01 Czech Cup
The 2000–01 Czech Cup was the eighth edition of the annual football knockout tournament organized by the Czech Football Association of the Czech Republic. Viktoria Žižkov prevailed at the 28 May 2001 Cup and qualified for the 2001–02 UEFA Cup. Teams Preliminary round 26 teams took part in the preliminary round. Round 1 83 teams entered the competition at this stage. Along with the 13 winners from the preliminary round, these teams played 48 matches to qualify for the second round. Praha hlavní nádraží is the largest railway station in Prague, Czech Republic. It opened in 1871 as Franz Josef Station, after Franz Joseph I of Austria. The 2011–12 Czech First League, known as the Gambrinus liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 19th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. It began on 29 July 2011 and was originally due to end on 26 May 2012, although due to the Czech Republic's qualification for the UEFA Euro 2012, the end of the season was brought forward to 12 May 2012.
