FK Neptūnas
Futbolo klubas Neptūnas, commonly known as Neptūnas is a Lithuanian football team from the port city of Klaipėda. History Club was established in 2020. In January 2020 it was officially announced that Basketball Club Neptūnas aims to have a football team. The team successfully licensed and debuted in the II Lyga. With the help of 5-6 professional footballers, wished to win the II Lyga and to be promoted to the I Lyga. Prerequisites for assembling a football team emerged after 2019 another club from Klaipėda FK Atlantas, who was eliminated from A Lyga and later (after season of 2020) defunct. 2021 the team received a license of the I Lyga and participated in the I Lyga championship. In the final line-up the team was remained in tenth place out of fourteen participants. In December 2021 it was announced that Valdas Trakys become the new head coach. Valdas Trakys
Valdas Trakys (born 20 March 1979) is a Lithuanian football coach and a former player. He is the manager of Neptūnas. Playing career Trakys started his professional career in 1995 with FK Panerys Vilnius in his native Lithuania. He played for FC Harelbeke and FBK Kaunas before moving to Russia to play for Torpedo Moscow. After a year with FC Khimki, Trakys left Russia to play for FH Hafnarfjörður in Iceland. Trakys then moved to Germany, playing for Greuther Fürth. Since 2004, Trakys has played in Russia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Greece. He was top scorer in the Lithuanian A Lyga in the 2009 season. In January 2010, he signed a six-month contract with Greek Beta Ethniki side Panserraikos. Trakys left Panserraikos after they breached his contract. Trakys then had a trial spell with Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, and signed on 14 September. 2021 Lithuanian Football Cup
The 2021 Lithuanian Football Cup was a single elimination association football tournament which began on 22 May 2021 and ended on 23 October 2021. The winner of the competition earned a spot in the second qualifying round of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League. Teams from A lyga, LFF I lyga and LFF II lyga participated in the tournament this year. Same as last year, lower league teams were not invited in order to shorten the competition due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The "B" teams do not participate in the cup competition. The A lyga teams entered the tournament from the first round this year. FK Panevėžys were the defending champions after winning the final in the previous season against FK Sūduva on penalties. Kęstutis Ivaškevičius (born 17 April 1985 in Klaipėda) is a Lithuanian footballer. Ivaškevičius is as an attacking midfielder, capable of playing wide right or centrally. He started his career at hometown club Atlantas Klaipėda and after impressing there earned a move to FBK Kaunas. In the second part of 2006 season he was loaned out to FK Šilutė, but returned for the 2007 and scored 7 goals, earning himself a move to Hearts for the 2006–07 season. At Hearts he struggled to make an impact on the first team. He made his Hearts debut in September 2006, in a 4–0 victory over Alloa Athletic in the Scottish League Cup, with his first league appearance occurring 6 months later, in a 2–0 win at Motherwell. Donatas Navikas (born 30 June 1983) is a former Lithuanian footballer who has recently started coaching career. He is currently coaching FK Neptūnas. Navikas previously played for FC Salyut-Energia Belgorod in the Russian First Division. Marius Papšys (born 13 May 1989) is a Lithuanian footballer who plays as a right winger for FK Saned Joniškis. Club career In 2006, Papšys signed for second tier Lithuanian side FK Vilnius. The 2022 Lithuanian Football Cup, for sponsorship reasons also called lt, Hegelmann LFF Taurė is a single elimination football tournament in Lithuania. 2020 Lithuanian Football Cup - 32nd edition of the Independent Lithuania Football Cup. The official name of this year's competition for sponsorship reasons is Hegelmann LFF Cup . This year's tournament was scheduled to start in April 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to mid-June. A total of 33 A Lyga, LFF I Lyga and II Lyga teams are participating.
