FIH All-Star Teams
The FIH All-Star Teams are a group of selected players and coaches chosen every year after the recommendations and opinions of field hockey players, officials, coaches and journalists. These players are considered to have given their best during the year in every competition and contributed in some way to improve the sport itself. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Luciana Aymar
Luciana Paula Aymar (; born 10 August 1977) is an Argentine retired field hockey player. She is the only player in history to receive the FIH Player of the Year Award eight times, and she is considered as the best female hockey player of all time. In 2010 she was granted the Platinum Konex Award as the best Hockey player of the last decade in Argentina. Luciana is known for her ability to beat opposing players using her pace and dribbling skills, drawing comparisons with Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona. For this reason she has received the nicknames "La Maga" ("The Magician") and "The Maradona of Field Hockey". Johanna ("Janneke") Dorotheo Maria Schopman (born 26 April 1977) is a former Dutch field hockey player who played as a defender for Dutch club HC Den Bosch and the Netherlands national team. Chay Crista Kerio Cullen, (born 20 August 1985) is an Olympic Gold Medal-winning English field hockey player. Hockey career Cullen made her senior international debut for England in 2003. Angie Skirving
Angela Robyn Lambert (; born 1 February 1981, in Toowoomba) was an Australian Women's Field Hockey player. She captained the under 21 Australian women's field hockey squad before entering the Hockeyroos in 1998 and in 2000 won gold at the Sydney Olympics. Angie went on to play in two more Olympic games and played over 225 games for Australia. Apart from playing in the Hockeyroos she played for the AHL Queensland Scorchers. Amy Swensen (née Trần, also known as Amy Tran-Swensen, born October 2, 1980) is an American field hockey player. A goalkeeper, she made her national team debut against Mexico at the 2001 Pan American Cup, where she shared the 5-0 shutout. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and began playing hockey at the age of 13. Tran attended the Northern Lebanon High School and University of North Carolina. At the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup, Tran was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
