FIDE Online Chess Olympiad 2020
The FIDE Online Chess Olympiad 2020 was an online chess tournament organised by the FIDE, Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) and hosted by Chess.com. It was held between 24 July and 30 August. The event was organised after the 44th Chess Olympiad was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The final match between Russia and India was called off after several Indian team members experienced connectivity issues due to a global outage of Cloudflare servers; Russia and India were subsequently declared joint winners. The FIDE Online Chess Olympiad 2021, second edition of the tournament was held in 2021. Pentala Harikrishna
Pentala Harikrishna (born 10 May 1986) is an Indian chess Grandmaster (chess), grandmaster. He achieved a peak world ranking of 10 in November 2016, and a peak Elo rating system, Elo rating of 2770 in December 2016. On 17 August 2001, he became the youngest Indian to attain the title of grandmaster, a record which was subsequently held by Koneru Humpy, Parimarjan Negi, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu and Gukesh Dommaraju in that order. He was Commonwealth Chess Championship, Commonwealth Champion in 2001, World Junior Champion in 2004, and Asian Individual Champion in 2011. Daniil Dubov
Daniil Dmitrievich Dubov (; born 18 April 1996) is a Russian chess grandmaster. He achieved his final norm for the Grandmaster title at the age of 14 years, 11 months, 14 days in 2011. Dubov won the 2018 World Rapid Chess Championship held in Saint Petersburg. Chess career 2006–2009 Dubov won two medals at the European Youth Chess Championships: a bronze in 2006, in the U-10 division, and a silver in 2008, in the U12. Polina Sergeevna Shuvalova (; born 12 March 2001) is a Russian chess player. She holds the FIDE titles of International Master (IM, 2020) and Woman Grandmaster (WGM, 2019). She is the 2019 World Girls U-20 Champion as well as the World Girl's U18 Champion in 2018 and 2019. As of 2023, Shuvalova has earned one of three title norms required to become a grandmaster. Andrey Evgenyevich Esipenko (; born 22 March 2002) is a Russian Grandmaster (chess), chess grandmaster. Aleksandra Yuryevna Goryachkina (; born 28 September 1998) is a Russian chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (chess), Grandmaster (GM). Kateryna Oleksandrivna Lagno (born 27 December 1989) is a Russian (formerly Ukrainian) chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, she earned the title Woman Grandmaster (WGM) at the age of 12 years, four months and two days. In 2007, she was awarded the grandmaster title. She is a twice European Women's Champion and won two team gold medals at the Women's Chess Olympiad, in 2006 and 2014, playing for Ukraine and Russia respectively. Alexander Igorevich Grischuk (born October 31, 1983) is a Russian chess grandmaster. Grischuk was the Russian champion in 2009. He is also a three-time world blitz chess champion (in 2006, 2012 and 2015). Vantika Agrawal (born September 2002) is an Indian chess player who holds the FIDE titles of Woman Grandmaster and International Master. Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa (born 10 August 2005) is an Indian chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, Praggnanandhaa placed second in the 2023 Chess World Cup, and is the only Indian to win the Tata Steel Chess Tournament after Viswanathan Anand.
