The FIBA Europe Cup Final MVP, previously the Final Four MVP, is an annual award that is given to the best player of the finals of a given FIBA Europe Cup season. The award was handed out in 2016 and 2021, seasons in which there was a final four format. From 2022, the award is given to the best player in the final series. FIBA Europe Cup
The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA Europe's second level competition. Clubs mainly qualify based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor. The winner is decided by a two-legged final. The league was founded in 2015 as a replacement of the FIBA EuroChallenge. History On June 30, 2015, FIBA announced it would start a new league to compete with Euroleague Basketball's EuroCup. The new competition, which replaced FIBA EuroChallenge, was supposed to be open for up to 100 teams to enter. A former 4th-tier FIBA competition, the FIBA EuroCup Challenge, was named as'' FIBA Europe Cup'' between 2003 and 2005. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the FIBA EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. The official list of teams was announced on August 3. The Skyliners Frankfurt, formerly known as Fraport Skyliners for sponsorship reasons, are a professional basketball club based in Frankfurt, Germany. Their home arena is Ballsporthalle. The club has played in the Basketball Bundesliga since 1999. Its greatest accomplishments were the German Basketball Cup, German Cup competition title in 2000, the German champions (basketball), German national championship in 2004 and the FIBA Europe Cup in 2016. Its most famous player has been Pascal Roller, who was selected as Basketball Bundesliga All-Star seven times and played 122 games for the German national basketball team. 2020–21 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2020–21 FIBA Europe Cup was the sixth season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European professional basketball competition for clubs, that was launched by FIBA. The season started on 26 January 2021 as it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ironi Nes Ziona won its first European title, after defeating Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski in the final in Tel Aviv. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic On 16 June 2020, FIBA Europe announced the season is presumed to start in September or October, with or without spectators. In case that the competition cannot start in September–October it will be automatically postponed to January 2021, with a reduced competition system. Klub Koszykówki Włocławek (English: Basketball Club Włocławek), or known for sponsorship reasons as Anwil Włocławek, is a Polish professional basketball club, based in Włocławek, Poland. The team plays in the Polish Basketball League (PLK) and internationally in the FIBA Europe Cup. Their home arena is Hala Mistrzów. The 2023–24 FIBA Europe Cup was the 9th season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European basketball competition for clubs launched by FIBA Europe. The season began on 18 October 2023 and ended on 24 April 2024. For this season, the number of teams in regular season was increased from 32 to 40 teams. The finals were contested by German club Niners Chemnitz and Turkish club Bahçeşehir Koleji, with Chemnitz winning their first European and Europe Cup title. Niners Chemnitz e.V., also named Chemnitz 99, is a German basketball club based in Chemnitz, Saxony. Currently, the team plays in the Basketball Bundesliga. Since its foundation in 1999, the team has played in Germany's lower divisions but moved up second division ProA in 2002.
