FC Wegberg-Beeck is a German association football club from the town of Wegberg, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club's greatest success has been promotion to the tier four Regionalliga West three times since 2015. The club has also taken part in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup, on one occasion, courtesy to a Middle Rhine Cup win. History The club was formed as Sportvereins 1920 Beeck in February 1920, became SC Beeck after the Second World War and adopted its current name in July 1996. SC Beeck began its rise from local amateur level in 1993 when it won promotion to the Landesliga Mittelrhein followed by promotion to the Verbandsliga Mittelrhein the year after. The club won promotion to the Oberliga Nordrhein after a runners-up finish in the Verbandsliga in 1996 and achieved good results in its first three seasons there, a third-place finish in 1999 as its best result. The Mittelrheinliga ( en, Middle Rhine League), sometimes also referred to as Oberliga Mittelrhein after its elevation to Oberliga status in 2012, is a German amateur football division administered by the Football association of the Middle Rhine, one of the 21 German state football associations. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. The German football league system, or league pyramid, refers to the hierarchically interconnected league system for association football in Germany that in the 2016–17 season consisted of 2,235 leagues in up to 13 levels having 31,645 teams, in which all divisions are bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. The top three professional levels contain one division each. Below this, the semi-professional and amateur levels have progressively more parallel divisions, which each cover progressively smaller geographic areas. Teams that finish at the top of their division at the end of each season can rise higher in the pyramid, while those that finish at the bottom find themselves sinking further down. 16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there where hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller, Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . They played a similar mix of rough noise, heavily amplified instruments and free jazz inspired improvisation. 1983 to 1994 the group did a lot of tours and played many gigs all over Europe, Japan and USA.
